If one cannot see the absence of journalistic standards means real journalism is dead, then the propaganda has been wildly successful. And we ended up with a bunch of propaganda heads, cleverly conditioned to be disconnected from reality. The evidence is seen in the Princeton Study. Propaganda heads are incapable of seeing what Princeton evidenced. That you get no representation in congress as an average american, only special interests get represented. And you never even noticed!!! This is what propaganda yields.

 

As an Independent I am fully aware of the bias on both sides of the media aisle.

 

Ah, another independent, like myself. But I was a good democrat until clinton helped to sell my party out, and they left me, and the legacy of FDR. And helped the GOP to dismantle what FDR helped to put into place. Protections for americans who must work for a living. So the rich could max out their profits and forget about a reasonable profit. But at an unacceptable cost to the rest of america. And this isn't conservatism, but neoliberalism. They should have told their voters they were no longer traditional cons, but now neoliberals.

 

Genuine conservatives are an endangered species. They were the ones who put the nation ahead of the party when Nixon was impeached. They would do what was best for America first and foremost. We the People needed those genuine conservatives as a check and balance on liberal ideas that are positive but not always pragmatic.

While I am a genuine fiscal conservative I lean towards liberalism when it comes to what is best for We the People. So in that regard I am opposed to the Wall Street Casino Bosses looting and pillaging hardworking American taxpayers. The wealth and future of the middle class has been effectively strip mined by the avaricious 1%.

Bernie Sanders has awakened that knowledge in our fellow Americans who don't buy into the "greed uber alles" disinformation of the corporate executives who own the GOP outright and have a controlling interest in the Dems.

The American Dream is on life support and We the People need to change course or the future will be a bleak one. I saw the first signs of that happening in early 2017 and I suspect we might see it start to manifest itself in the midterms.

Ah, we see things from the same perspective. I agree we needed genuine conservatives to keep the left in check, due to a lack of pragmatism seen on the left. This balance served us quite well, but alas it is gone. I always knew real conservatives were leery of the abuse and power of concentrated wealth and its effect upon a gov't which is supposed to be by and for the People.

Yep, the American Dream is on life support, and unless there is a change in the trend, we may not have it one day, or so few have access as for it to be almost nonexistent.

I have this idea that any economic model which does not sufficiently provide for a nation's people, is the wrong model to have, in the manner it is structured by policy, rules, regulation and laws. For if an economic model does not serve the the nation proper and her people who in the hell is it actually serving optimally?
