I don't know. You are the one with the answers. The charts above show a steady warming from the last ice age. It is still occurring. Apparently it isn't news. We have known about it for a long time. The hysteria (Bangladesh, Venice) is political.
What does that have to do with this hoax? 'Greenhouse' gasses existed before humanity, they exist independent of humanity in nature now...
In what terms? We have extremely limited data on past sun activity, its been there billions of years. Thinking we understand any of this with such certainly as to blame man for anything going on with climate is idiotic...
Yes, greenhouse gases existed and exist. Such grand insights are staggering. No one has ever considered this. I will write the President immediately. Do you honestly believe such bar-room arguments carry any weight? Do you honestly believe you are the only one to consider this?
It's the smoking gun observation that proves greenhouse gases are responsible for the current warming. Agreed. Greenhouse gases caused warming in the past just like they do today. The only difference being that man is responsible for the increase in CO2 concentration today.
Since the industrial revolution, we have released about 1,374 gigatons, or 1.4 trillion tons of CO2, that was safely locked away for millions of years. That works out to about 7100 tons, or 14 million pounds of CO2 per square mile over the entire planet.
One of the best ways to sequester CO2 is to do it how nature did it in the first place. Algae can absorb about 1.2 billion tons of CO2, per square mile, per year. In the deep ocean, algae absorbs CO2 as it grows. It then dies and carries that carbon to the bottom of the ocean, where the low temperatures and high pressures preserve the algae until it sinks into the ocean floor. Eventually it is moved beneath the earth by tectonic motion, where additional pressure and time convert the algae to crude oil. This is how the majority of the oil on earth was made in the first place. And there is no worry about runaway algae plumes. It requires a great deal of nitrogen to create a plume. This must be provided artificially. Nitrogen from farming is what creates most plumes in rivers and along ocean shorelines.
And yet, CO2 is nothing more than a "trace gas". The actual science doesn't support your "scary scenarios". Why don't you guys try getting a job and earning a living, instead of hand wringing in fear that the sky is falling.
Its not a majority of scientists, is a small group of mostly academics that require the fraud for their continued existence.
Isn't it your turn to stir the Kool Aid? You hucksters are too much. According to your 'scientists' sea levels are supposed to have risen to catastrophic levels. Never happened, why on Earth would I care what those frauds have to say? Why would anyone with a brain have faith in those people?
Presumably those measurements were taken relative to local benchmarks, so I'd say they're pretty much worthless.
Catastrophic sea level rise by now is a denier prediction used as a strawman. The IPCC predicts ~1m of rise by 2100 and that's with the worst case RCP8.5 pathway. If you don't like what frauds have to say then stop reading those denier blog sites.
Can you explain why CO2 being a trace gas leads you to believe that it can't influence the climate? Be convincing. Describe the molecular physics and quantum mechanical ideas that you feel justifies your belief. Then explain how the Earth was warmer in the distant past when the Sun was dimmer. Which "scary scenarios" from the IPCC AR5 report are you speaking of? I have a job. And I've never once advocated for Chicken Little sky-is-falling scenarios. In fact, many (most?) of these sky-is-falling things you keep hearing about are myths that originate from denier blogger sites or from people who aren't scientists.
A l 2100? A lot can happen by then, and all the predictors will be long dead and never held accountable for their failure. How sad. Humans have nothing to do with sea level increases or decreases. The factors that determine that are so far out of our capabilities its folly to even consider. Only cultists or frauds would attempt to spread such nonsense...
Let us all know when you can find a single scientific organization anywhere in the world that supports the position that AGW is a fraud.
