Well it's really difficult for the average leftist to keep up with the constant bombardment of disinformation and total amount of bullshit they must wade thru on a daily basis.. Maybe give them a little slack considering what they have to work with :(

I understand that would be the case if the communication is initiated by congress. But the AG did request transcripts. I think that would be normal, given that the DoJ is carrying out their own investigation about the same matter. And, since the depositions were taken under oath, they might find them helpful. Congress might not be under any obligation to provide them but... I don't see why they wouldn't.

I don't see any comments in your post that apply to the evidence of crimes detailed in the report. Honestly, not that I expected to. I know how much you folks like to employ snark as though it's a substitute for refutation. Well, because snark is all you have.

    A. 18 USC § 371: Conspiracy to Defraud the United States

The record of publicly disclosed facts shows that former President Donald Trump and members of his circle—including, at a minimum, outside attorney John Eastman—attempted to interfere with Congress’ electoral count on January 6, 2021. Among other things: They pressed Vice President Mike Pence to groundlessly reject electoral certificates from key states, attempting to deny Joe Biden the electoral college majority that he legitimately won in a fair and secure election. In the alternative, they wanted Pence to delay the electoral count. It furthermore appears that, in coercing leadership to baselessly declare the 2020 election to be tainted by fraud, in direct and unreasonable contravention of authoritative accounts, Trump and those around him—including, at a minimum, DOJ lawyer Jeffrey Clark—planned to interfere with the DOJ’s responsibility to investigate election offenses fairly and evenhandedly. There is substantial evidence supporting the conclusion that those schemes amount to one or more violations of 18 U.S.C. § 371, although any final determination must of course await the completion of the Committee’s hearing and report, and the decision of the DOJ. § 371 creates an offense “f two or more persons conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy.

Care to counter? No more snark, please.

LOL! I have seen the evidence myself. I cited it. On national TV he asked the Russians to illegally spy on his political opponent. That was a crime. The republicans simply refused to ever hold him accountable for anything.

It is documented that he has caused many deaths due to his stupidity or psychopathy in convincing people to inject disinfectant or shine a light up their butt to cure Covid; by holding huge superspreader events called rallies. Not to mention his macho crap and refusing to wear a mask for most of two years. He has likely killed at least 100,000 people.

And we have eyewitness testimony with his entire team slowly turning on him, including his daughter LOL!

You are supporting the greatest mass murderer in US history. Why? Are you smarter than the scientists or don't you care who he killed, or how many people? He has killed something close to 17,000 times as many people as the latest poster boy for the 2nd amendment - the Highland Park Shooter

I don't know what you're talking about. ALL the information is coming from Trump's own staff, attorneys and family. ZERO from anywhere else. And I don't think any of them is a leftist. So anybody who is following the Committee hearings is very well informed, anybody who is not is clueless. Makes no difference if they're right or left wing.

Watch the January 6 Committee Hearings. Read the Mueller Report. Read the Republican Senate Committee Report.

But you won't. Because proof is actually the last thing you want to see.

The committee is an illegit illegal sham... Mueller report produced not one Russian collusion to affect our 2016 election.... and the Senate Committee Report was not just Republican as you falsely imply and had more references to the MSM articles that was their basis for "sources"... including the NYT and WaPo fakes news that actually got Pullitsir prizes for the fake Russiangate story that they never gave back... and the best part is they referenced the 17 intel report, who themselves did not stand behind their own report they wrote...

But you just eat it all up of what they feed you... you are actually taking this TV show to heart like it is soap opera it is..

"Illegal". Looks like you're running out of ideas about which baseless words to use to deny the fact that all evidence demonstrates that Trump is a criminal.

That is what I stated was wrong, but was corrected by another poster who stated the AG asked his own staff for briefings, not the Congress. Which the hell is it????? If congress, the AG is way out of line asking for it and congress is way out of line giving it.

What they requested were transcripts of the depositions. A "briefing" (appropriate or not) would be useless. I don't know if it was the DoJ or the AG directly who requested the transcripts. But I see nothing wrong. They're carrying out a criminal investigation. Why would it be wrong to share any relevant information? We're all trying to save the same nation of laws, aren't we?

illegal and ilegit.... No rules where followed when formed by Pelosi and the very fact the legislative branch is doing executive branch criminal investigation..

As you are out resident expert...
Do you know if the legislative branch's evidence, interviews, and testimony will be available to the Trump team for discovery if the executive branch was to bring the Trump team to court. It's funny Zoe admits they are chasing down criminal issue that should be the job of the executive branch... but my answer to you Zoe because you are not smart enough to figure it out... Hutchinson is a 2nd and 3rd hand witness which is not allowed in the courts, only in your little fake illegit committee..

“We’re not an arm of the Department of Justice,” Lofgren told NBC’s “Meet The Press.” “We’re a legislative committee. The DOJ have subpoena power. They could subpoena Ms. Hutchinson. I’m surprised they had not done so.”
“I was surprised that the prosecutors were surprised,” Lofgren continued. “What are they doing over there? They have a much greater opportunity to enforce their subpoenas than our legislative committee does.”

I don't see why not. But that has nothing to do with this thread, which is only intended to explain the Committee's legislative purpose.

If you don't know just say so.. Their purpose is to do a criminal investigation which is the executive branch's job...... obviously you don't know the answer to
"Do you know if the legislative branch's evidence, interviews, and testimony will be available to the Trump team for discovery if the executive branch was to bring the Trump team to court"?

For what legislative purpose was the testimony about the SUV? Why have members of the committee been quite clear that the purpose is to make referrals to the DOJ?

And a hearing DOES have opposition testimony and evidence and cross examination and testing of the statements of witness. This is NOT a hearing it is a staged piece of one sided propaganda.

If there is evidence of a crime why hasn't the premier criminal investigative body in the world engaged in the largest federal criminal investigation in the history of the country found it?

Why isn't he demanding they shutdown this charade before they jeopardize any prosecutions he may have coming? Criminal investigations are HIS purview NOT the Congress.
