Check out Jackie's grand daughter. No resemblance there!!!

    Apparently she has political aspirations.

Was the "no resemblance"-part sarcastic? Please tell me it was.

I have often thought how the world keeps repeating. Each generation looks like the last. We always have new faces. But I wonder how far back old faces go? Did her great-great-great-great grandmother look like her as well?

Was there a woman who looked like Jackie running about in the 1600s? It's funny to think about.

She is! I don't know how old you are. I am a bit too young, but have heard much about how the entire world fell in love with Jackie.

Jackie Kennedy was the epitome of a debutante.I know a thing or two
about them debutante's.I,as well both my brothers had to attend
dancing school while in grade school. It was also a Charm school.
Knowing how to go thru a reception line and properly introduce yerself
and receive "others" .I learned the "Udders" part quite naturally,of course.
Think the TV show - The Gilmour Girls - and the Parents.
Proper everything.Manners galore.Even though little Jackie
    somewhat misbehaved in grade school { Chapin School in Manhattan }
and one teacher describing her as the " prettiest little girl, very artistic, very
clever and full of the devil ".
Jack Kennedy was the Devil as far as his adultery.Goit away with it too.
The Press back then was unwilling to blab about Horny Jacks sexual
peccadillos. The Kenedy Clan always circles the wagon when one of their
    own is caught doing wrong.
Joe Kennedy II had a Boston Archbishop conspire to buy off his Divorce
and have it declared " annuled ". Little Joe's wife was causing trouble
    for the then Congressman.

What a beaut! She has my vote!

On this day in history, July 18, 1969, Talk about War on Women.

The Drunk Driver of The Senate.Edward F. Kennedy.

Senator Edward 'Ted' Kennedy stood for sleaze. Bloated and drunken, he used his standing in the Kennedy clan to chase vulnerable women - which brought his dream of reaching the White House to a shameful end.

He was the youngest of the four Kennedy brothers, and by far the longest lived.
Incredibly, he was in line to inherit his brother John F. Kennedy's legendary presidency, but his chances were dashed following the drowning of the pretty, young campaign assistant Mary Jo Kopechne.

Shortly after leaving a party on Chappaquiddick Island, Senator Edward “Ted” Kennedy of Massachusetts drives an Oldsmobile off a wooden bridge into a tide-swept pond. Kennedy escaped the submerged car, but his passenger, 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne, did not. The senator did not report the fatal car accident for 10 hours.

The party was planned as a reunion for Kopechne and five other women, all veterans of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy’s 1968 presidential campaign. In 1969, Ted Kennedy was elected majority whip in the U.S. Senate, and he seemed an early front-runner for the 1972 Democratic presidential nomination.

Kennedy took a sharp turn onto the unpaved Dike Road, drove for a short distance, and then missed the ramp to a narrow wooden bridge and drove into Poucha Pond. Kennedy, a married man, claimed the Dike Road excursion was a wrong turn. However, both he and Kopechne had previously driven down the same road, which led to a secluded ocean beach just beyond the bridge. In addition, Kopechne had left both her purse and room key at the party.

Kennedy escaped the car and then claimed he dove down in an attempt to retrieve Kopechne from the sunken Oldsmobile. Kennedy returned to his room at the Shiretown Inn and at 9:45 a.m., 10 hours after driving off Dike Road bridge, Kennedy reported the accident to Edgartown Police Chief Dominick Arena and admitted that he was the driver.

On July 25, Kennedy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, received a two-month suspended sentence, and had his license suspended for a year. That evening, in a televised statement, he called the delayed reporting of the accident “indefensible” but vehemently denied that he been involved in any improprieties with Kopechne.

While he avoided more serious charges, it derailed his presidential hopes.

    May Mary rest in peace.

I was never a fan of Ted but he went on to do many good things with his life. A redeemed man? Perhaps. I don't know. But that is my sense. He served as Senator of Massachusetts for 47 years - long after the Kennedy dynasty was a thing of the past. He must have been doing something right.

This is something a lot of people don't know.

On June 19, 1964, Kennedy was a passenger in a private Aero Commander 680 airplane flying in bad weather from Washington to Massachusetts. The plane crashed into an apple orchard in the western Massachusetts town of Southampton on the final approach to the Barnes Municipal Airport in Westfield.[51][52] The pilot and Edward Moss (one of Kennedy's aides) were killed.[53] Kennedy was pulled from the wreckage by fellow Senator Birch Bayh[51] and spent months in a hospital recovering from a severe back injury, a punctured lung, broken ribs and internal bleeding.[37] He suffered chronic back pain for the rest of his life as a result of the accident.[54][55] Kennedy took advantage of his long convalescence to meet with academics and study issues more closely, and the hospital experience triggered his lifelong interest in the provision of health care services.[37] His wife Joan did the campaigning for him in the regular 1964 U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts,[37] and he defeated his Republican opponent by a three-to-one margin.[47]]

Yes, and who can forget the famous Chris Dodd and Ted Kennedy "Waitress Sandwich" that they compiled while their dates were in the restroom:

"Dodd and Kennedy made a 'human sandwich' with a waitress at La Brasserie, a Capitol Hill restaurant. Kennedy threw the woman on Dodd, who was slumped in a chair, and then jumped on top of her. She ran screaming from the room."

TBH, in the videos I have seen of Jackie speaking, combined with her facial features, makes me think her family tree may have been missing some branches or genes or something. Her GD is a bae though.

Apparently the people of Massachusetts didn't buy it. If he had a pattern of abuse, I guess I never heard about it. Mass was about as far from California as one can get. But...

No matter what you post, you would have to explain why, for 47 years, he kept getting reelected. Massachusetts isn't exactly socially liberal. At least it wasn't back then. If he was that bad, I don't see how he stayed in office so long in such a socially conservative State.

Well if you want me to be blunt, Jackie always strikes me as having either been inbred or mildly retarded to be politically incorrect. GD, however, is a bae as was said previously. For you old timers that means she is smoking hot, built like a brick poop house, etc.
