The idiotic flop of Trump with the soybeans is the trigger for the apparently barely informed Americans to learn a little bit about the reality in gene technology in Agriculture of your country today...

The Monsanto group looks back on a long scandalous chronicle, from Agent Orange to PCB to dioxin. Currently, 90 percent of all GM crops worldwide are from Monsanto. The global company has a breathtaking goal: to bring complete global agriculture under its control.
In doing so, Monsanto's strategies mesh like gears: influence on politics and science, acquisition of competing companies, aggressive acquisition of patents, control of farmers and acceptance of the contamination of large areas with gene plants. With these tactics, the group has brought almost the entire US agriculture into its dependence and tries the same everywhere in the world ... but still largely fails in Europe (just wondering how long!).

In order to gain global seed monopoly, Monsanto seeks to exert influence at many levels: The Group is a member of numerous lobbying groups and strategic alliances worldwide to influence political decisions. In the US, employees regularly move from Monsanto to various US federal agencies - and back again.

The interesting thing is the whole strategy behind it, because it reveals the evil work and the impudence ...

    MONSANTOS MAKES STRATEGIES

    STRATEGY 1: BUY
Since 1999, Monsanto has been buying seed companies for more than $ 13 billion around the world. As late as January 2005, Monsanto acquired its competitor Seminis for $ 1.4 billion. Monsanto is now the second largest seed supplier in the world, with more than € 4 billion in sales to DuPont and the largest supplier of GM seeds.

    STRATEGY 2: PATENT
In the 1980s and early 1990s, Monsanto acquired significant patents on genetic engineering and genes in the United States. Monsanto mainly earns on two key technologies:

    BT TECHNOLOGY:
The Bt toxin is an insect poison normally produced by the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). Monsanto owns patent rights to crops into which Bt toxin gene has been introduced. They should thus be protected against pests.

    ROUNDUP READY TECHNOLOGY:
Roundup is a broad-spectrum herbicide from the production Monsanto (active ingredient: glyphosate). Monsanto holds patent rights to crops that have been made resistant to Roundup by genetic engineering (Roundup Ready crops).
The combination of patent and genetic engineering gives Monsanto a highly effective tool to economically dominate the entire food production chain:
    - The patented seed allows Monsanto to contract farmers.
    - The harvest by no means belongs to the farmer alone, but the patent right secures Monsanto license rights. In addition, the patents are so broad that they also include the secondary products of the harvest to the end product.

    STRATEGY 3: CONTROL
Monsanto consolidates its dominant position through the contracts that it concludes with buyers of its seeds. These contracts
    - prohibit farmers from using their own crop as seed, as farmers have been doing for thousands of years
    - require farmers to buy their chemicals from Monsanto
imposing a duty of confidentiality on farmers: if there is a conflict about a possible breach of the contract, they must not talk about it to third parties
    - oblige farmers to give Monsanto's detectives access to their land at all times and in all circumstances.

Newer Monsanto contracts also contain a clause prohibiting the farmer from sueing Monsanto should the GM seed fail in cultivation. If a farmer ignores the agreements or a part of them, he may be liable under the contract for the patent infringement he has committed. He has to pay the legal fees as well as the entire costs of enforcing the contract.
Monsanto maintains a dedicated department of 75 employees with an annual budget of $ 10 million, which only deals with possible patent infringements by farmers. According to its own statements from the years 2003 and 2004, the company takes on 500 to 600 investigations per year for seed piracy. By 2004, Monsanto had filed 90 lawsuits involving 147 farmers and 39 small businesses or agricultural companies. This number has now increased by several 100%!
Jurisdiction is generally St. Louis, Missouri - the headquarters of Monsanto, it is in the contract.

One of Monsanto's most famous victims is the Canadian rape farmer Percy Schmeiser. He was not even a client of Monsanto. According to Schmeiser, his fields were contaminated by the GM crops of the group. Because then found in Schmeiser's plants the genes patented by Monsanto, the seed company sued the farmer in 1998 for patent infringement. On August 6, 2004, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled against Schmeiser in the final instance.
To put it more clearly: because the neighbor of Schmeiser had Monsanto rape rapeseed and this increased by natural pollen count on his fields and he thereby suddenly reaped Monsanto rapeseed, which he had not sown, he was be sued for patent infringement and has also lost ! Unbelievable and true ... Monsanto is above the law and nature!

    STRATEGY 4: CONTAMINATE
Monsanto's lawyers would deny that the company had deliberately caused the contamination of entire regions with its gene crops. The fact is that such contamination has taken place and is taking place in dramatic proportions. In North America today, more than half of all conventional corn and soybean seeds and almost all rapeseed seeds are contaminated with Monsanto's patented genes.

    Conclusion:
And so we are back to the beginning, the problem of what the US soybean, if they want to the EU. Gen manipulated with thanks to the company Monsantos!

You Americans are tired of the political swamp in Washington and have you chosen Trump because of that?
Then ask "Uncle Donald" what he is here to do to combat such an actual swamp that infiltrates and abuses democracy, the institutions and the rule of law USA!
Under US law, why are such criminal contracts permissible that Monsantos concludes with the farmers?

    Again as a reminder:
Even if a farmer says "I do not want the crap of Santos", that does not help him. If its neighbor uses the Monsanto's seed, this will eventually be due to its natural spread to its farmland and grow. Then he also became Monsanto's customer, whether he likes it or not ... like Schmeiser!

Two points for the insane euros to ponder

BT is a natural pesticide and in no way a toxic chemical as the public understands the term

Second, your complaint about lawsuits is not with monsanto but rather with the lunaic fringe known as the courts

Judges ruled against the canadian farmer and in other cases and I agree the court decision makes no sense

    Ok three points

The purists are not going to be able to feed the world using ald fashioned methods from the Dark Ages

You should embrace technology while tempering the wilder tendencies of the mad scientists

But in germany you can do as you please

Monsanto is evil, but GMO foods are no more at fault than musicians are for the evil intellectual property practices of Sony BMG, or doctors are for the evil IP practices of Pfizer.

    Unfortunately not so Mac7 ...

The BT toxin is inserted as a gene in the plants to make it resistant to pests. BT is deadly for human beings if you swallow it straight. Whether the insertion into the gene sequence is somehow schäflich is unclear ... because there are no sufficient studies that prove or refute. There are enough other examples where a shared gene enginnering thing suddenly had side effects.

Something that must happen to 7 billion people in order to be able to feed them all is clear and is beyond any discussion. Only the question is, how far do you want to go?
Gen technology is not equal to genetic engineering ... which is not aware of any of the critics. For me, understanding, for example, completely ceases in ROUNDUP READY TECHNOLOGY and I reject it categorically and fundamentally.

But here I wanted to show you the dark machinations of Monsanto in their entirety ... also with the background why your soybeans have a big problem with their imports into the EU.

As stated above, gene technology is important ...
Because something like ROUNDUP READY TECHNOLOGY is a "no go" ... because a plant is genetically engineered so that it is against a Herbizit or a pesticious imun, around it all but dies.

No, an evaluation of facts, which does not allow a different opinion when using the brain .... or do you want to become a farmer voluntarily and make the toggle contract with Monsantos?

There are no known health risks to humans from bt

By “swallowing it straight” I suppose you mean drinking a bottle full as if it were beer

But I doubt if anyone would do that

I have informed myself again ... BT is actually harmless to humans. You're right ... :)

But I'm worried about the other group ... the ROUNDUP READY TECHNOLOGY ;-)

I suppose RR (Roundup Ready) could be blamed for promoting the use of Roundup itself

And Roundup is a toxin to be avoided

But farmers spray Roundup with or without the GMO modification

There my be safer ways to meet world food demand

But so far no one has found them

Is it then fair to say that not all GMOs are bad?

Apart from the direct effects, it is also about the side effects of the substances. One of the most important of these is glyophosate and it is amazing that the more glyphosate is used, the more bees die.
Glyphosate is a herbicide, so plant protection product to destroy unwanted other plants in the fields. Why then do the bees die?
Of course, the Monsantos denies and they submit counter-opinions, etc. and threaten with injunctive relief and damages etc ...
The only thing is that the bees die more if glyphosate is used and if the bees die out, then agriculture has a huge problem then what all humans have. But maybe Monsanto's then self-pollinating GM mutant crops?

The use of Glyphosatt is the one, but that's not enough and of course the crop must be made with genetic engineering against glyphosate imun ... because glyphosate also kills them too.

This is not only perverted, but if you then nachhakst what the Imunitöt is concerned, if this can of course spread, then there is no clear answer!
And if it is harmless, why are the bees dying?

I have never said that GMO is generally bad ... already normal breeding for millennia in principle, genetic engineering.

Only when there is something so perverse and incalculable dangerous as described above with glyphosate, then my understanding stops and it follows a general rejection and a demand for prohibition.

And here in Europe we are very vigilant in the population and extremely negative and no one in our governments and no one in the EU dares to really do anything against the will of the people ... which is good!

There are toxins that kill bees but Glyphosate is not one of them

Because its sprayed on grass where bees seldom go

The biggest threat to bees are paracites that have nothing to do with chemical sprays

I do not know how it is in the USA, but with us as follows:
Glyphosate is suspected to disturb the sense of bee orientation, with far-reaching consequences as you can imagine when bees do not find their way home, etc.

The fact is that the bee population is decreasing as glyphosate is increasingly used, and where it is not used, it does not go back. Any connection must be there and there are no coincidences!

My grandfather was a beekeeper for 40 years and at that time he already scolded all the chemical clubs against plants and insects and said: first the bee dies, then the human in the end!
and that was at a time when everyone said DDT was not dangerous ... today we know better, right?

Evidently, it's time barely informed Europeans learned that American farmers and gardeners have choices when it comes to buying seeds. They don't have to buy GM or Monsanto seed:

    Do Farmers Have Choices?
    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/jenny-dewey-rohrich/do-farmers-have-choices_b_4421240.html

In fact, one of the booming cottage industries in this country are the growing number of businesses that produce heirloom, organic and non-GMO seeds, such as this co-op that I buy seeds from:

    Southern Exposure Seed Exchange
    http://www.southernexposure.com/

Some of them will go further and offer customers hybrids that are more disease-resistant, such as this company that offers an astounding variety of seeds:

    Totally Tomatoes
    https://www.totallytomato.com/

Bottom line: If you don't want to buy GM and Monsanto seeds don't buy them. You DO have a choice. Don't listen to the Mad Tinfoil Hatters who tell you that you don't...

I don't know of many farmers who use Roundup. Selective herbicides have become so effective and widely used that it's not necessary to use an herbicide like Roundup that indiscriminately kills everything and wrecks the soil.

Same thing goes for consumers. For example, if you're Harry Homeowner and you've got poison ivy growing around your property why use Roundup when you can use a selective herbicide like Crossbow that won't harm your lawn?

In my experience, the biggest problem regarding herbicides is that most people don't know what choices are out there, and that's generally not a problem farmers have. In Virginia, our county extension offices do an outstanding job of keeping farmers aware and up to date on these things.

Americans have choices on what to grow, true enough. Countries that receive USAid, not so much. Here's a search term to use; you'll find lots of info.

Actually, testing showed that feeding rats certain GMOs produced sterility by the 5th generation.

GMOs now include food plants that produce their own pesticides. When eating them, you are eating pesticides. So just get out a bottle of Round Up and spray it on all your meals. There is no health risk with chemicals on or in your food that in more concentrated form are military chemical warfare weapons. Have a glass of Round Up before bedtime. That way if any bedbugs bite you they'll promptly die. Consuming pesticides is good for you even.

The US Congress passed a law. BANNING states requiring notice that a food product contains a GMO. Consumers have NO choice. The power of Monsanto in the USA politically is absolute.

The very concept that ANYONE can "patent" nature, even if a manipulated plant, is outrageous if the plant can reproduce itself and spread.

Have you not been in a Lowes, Home Depot or Wal-Mart and seen the increased space given for Round-up in these stores over the last few years?

A paper published Feb. 2, 2016 in the peer-reviewed journal Environmental Sciences Europe reports that 18.9 billion pounds (8.6 billion kilograms) of glyphosate have been used globally. Glyphosate use has risen almost 15-fold since so-called "Roundup Ready" genetically engineered crops were introduced in 1996.

Enough glyphosate was applied in 2014 to spray over three-quarters of a pound of glyphosate active ingredient on every harvested acre of cropland in the U.S., and remarkably, almost one-half pound per acre on all cropland worldwide (0.53 kilogram/hectare).

Monsanto is a popular villain these days, from what I've seen. One of the internet's favorite dragons wage war against, as it puts a name to the otherwise nebulous GMO faux threat. If Monsanto is the dragon, GMO crops are a plague that emanate from it and similarly needs to be combated by internet warriors the world over. But why?

I see a lot of fear mongering and no effort to approach the subject of genetic modification in an informed, scientific, objective manner. I find it highly doubtful that there is a lack of testing as to how safe or unsafe these gene modifications are. Clearly they are not a health issue for humans or livestock, in fact, because here are eating these crops and not dying horrible deaths because of them. Yes, this crap is bound to be tested. No, Monsanto can't just buy its way to acceptance and skirt testing.

Put down your pitchforks and be reasonable about GMOs. For crying out loud, you're supposed to be enlightened, informed people in Europe. Why do you allow GMO to be such an exception to that rule?
