I don’t care about your stories.

James Bond is not being warped into a female character. James Bond still exists and is present in this film. Stop with the sour nonsense and just skip the film.

007 who IS James Bond is being warped and morphed into a female role PERIOD. So again can you point me to an iconic female character that was warped and morphed into a male role?

No reason to do so. It’s immaterial to the conversation.

007 is title. A code designation. It isn't the character, and at no point in the books or any of the movies did they ever say that only one person could ever be assigned that code . . . in fact, a brief look at the novels makes it doubtful that such would be the case. James Bond is the character. 007 is his code designation, not his character. James Bond is still a male character in the film in your OP. He's still portrayed by Craig. He's still the main character. Nomi, the character you are wringing your hands over, is a different character. She's in a supporting role.

Still refusing to read your own article and watch the trailer? Really?

What's next, a gender confused Jamie Bond? A hermaphodite Bond? perhaps a Black, Asian, Muslim gay Bond. Tranny Bond? How about a wheelchair bound Bond, why are disabled people being discriminated against?

"No Time To Die" will be Daniel Craig's last Bond movie and there's no successor yet.
Merely rumours about this guy and that guy. Papers have to fill the pages and all this gossip and blah blah is great promotion for the production company.
Some people should try to come back to reality.

Don't care so much really. After Connery it never has been the Bond I grew up with. The Roger Moore years were a cartoon'ish waste. The Daniel Craig ones have been a fun ride but still not what I think of when I imagine James Bond.

So a sexy, fit, tough, fine looking black woman in the role?

Frankly I am more than an adequately heterosexual sexist male to enjoy the visuals of a hot babe kicking bad guy ass as a "License To Kill Double-Oh!" MI6 spy. Since it ain't the Bond I think of anyway, I just ignore the "Not Bond" part of it and enjoy the ride.As if it is a cool super-spy fantasy flick

    Which to me, it is.

Check out 1967's spy spoof Casino Royale, David Niven as 007 James Bond.

The character is James Bond. 007 is his code designation. The books never make it clear what happens to someone's code designation when they go missing, die, or retires. Given all of the code designations that appear in the books, however, (008, 006, etc.) it seems unlikely that they retire a code designation rather than simply giving it to a new agent. And the films had already established that other code designations, such as "M", go with the post; they aren't unique to each person. Bond also mentions in the Moonraker novel that he's coming up on retirement age, so he's well aware that there's more to him than just being 007.

You should watch the trailer. James Bond is still being played by Daniel Craig. He's still the main character. Moni, the new character that everyone has their panties in a bunch about, isn't "the new James Bond." She's a side character. She's another 00 agent.

Bond was born in Scotland, his parents were Andrew Bond of Scotland and Monique Delacroix-Bond of Switzerland. His parents died in a climbing accident in the French Alps when he was 11. After their death he went to live with his aunt Miss Charmian Bond in London.
In his early years he was educated entirely abroad but from the age of 12 he was educated in the UK. He first went to Eton college but was later removed for ''girl trouble'' with a maid. He then attended his father's school in Scotland, Fettes college.
After Fettes Bond studied at Cambridge University obtaining a first in oriental languages and briefly at the university of Geneva.
After he finished his education he joined the Royal Navy eventually rising to the rank of commander.
He married only once to Italian contessa Teresa di Vincenzo or Tracy Bond as she became. Unfortunately the contessa was murdered on their wedding day.

:blushes: ~ Bond goes genderless - then has sex reassignment surgery. The perfect way to foil and confuse the enemy . Bruce Katlyn Jenner will fill the shoes - high heels of course . :whisper:

Idris Elba would make a fantastic Bond.
He's the right age, super cool, sexy and an excellent actor.

To be honest I'm more worried that the character Felix Leiter has regrown the arm and half a leg which he lost after falling into a shark tank in Live and Let die.

Had to google him, never even heard the name. There are quite a few great British actors who could easily fill those shoes I think. The only dull one was George L. I think. Have to say, though, never cared much for Brosnan, neither as Bond, nor as an actor in general.
'Live and let die' was the one with the crocodile farm and blaxplotation vibe, Moore's first.
I think you're referring to Dalton's second one 'Licence to Kill.' However, growing back an arm and half a leg after a shark attack is a really cool thing. Once I've found out how that works, I will live much more recklessly.

No, I'm referring to Flemming's Live and Let Die where Felix was so badly mauled by a shark that Bond himself killed him. Felix was later brought back after public demand but as a private detective working for Pinkertons as his injuries were too severe for his job in the CIA. He lost his gun hand and was therefore deemed unfit for service.

George Lazenby played the lead role in the only Bond film which stayed loyal to the Flemming book. Most of the other films used little more than the title and the later films didn't even use that since they ran out of books after 12 films.
They couldn't even get his car right. Bond, as everyone who read the books knows, drove a battleship grey Bentley 4.5 litre.

Why are people in the entertainment industry so bug-eyed manic about casting negroes in white roles? What would the reaction be if a white actor was cast in a role playing Nelson Mandella, or Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.? Complete idiocy! But for what reason...?

It was ridiculous enough that a black woman named Sophie Okonedo was cast as Queen Margaret of Anjou in the "Hollow Crown" series (along with Benedict Cumberbatch). A BLACK QUEEN IN FRANCE?! It ruined the whole damned series because it kept on smothering the whole show in "Oh, look, they've got a black woman in THAT role...."

What is it that the 'entertainment' industry is so DESPERATE to rub everybodys' faces in, in nearly every show, in nearly every advertisement, in nearly everything...?!

Somehow the very much macho Craig does not come across as macho as Connery; and I can't figure out why. Meh . . . but perhaps macho will become a non-issue in future Bond films.

The character is James Bond 007. Just those two original covers I posted what is the more prominent BY FAR, the 007 or the James Bond. And how many times do I have to repeat myself this is not about the Craig movie, it's about the next one after that where 007, James Bond, is morphed into a woman and still waiting for someone to give and example of an iconic established female character has been morphed into a male character or explain why we have never seen it.

Your OP provided that title of the movie you were talking about. I keep talking about that movie. If you want to talk about a different movie, why start an OP about the movie I linked to the trailer for.

James Bond has not "morphed into a woman." I've repeatedly proven this. Please stop making **** up.

I have been quite clear about which movie and it's James Bond 007 not Julie Bond 007, the number is inseparable from the name of the character. Want a female super spy then create a new one not one based on a male character.

The number is easily separable from the character for anyone capable of a sliver of critical thought. It's a title. Your OP made very clear what movie you were talking about, but every time I talk about that movie you run away and try claiming your OP doesn't exist. Not sure why. Scratch that, nope, I'm sure why.

I refuse to believe anyone is daft enough to not understand why this is a vapid, dishonest comparison.

When Obama was president, did you demand that all presidents in all movies be played by black men? If you understand why it would be stupid to do so, then you understand what is stupid about the complaint.
