Just saying hello. I am from the Pacific Northwest but have also lived in Georgia, Illinois and Virginia. Looking for an alternative site to kill time at work since Yahoo forums were shut down. Politically I consider myself an independent but admittedly President Trump has pushed me left in recent years. That said, traditionally I support/don't support policies from both sides.
Welcome. I think you'll find that writing on this forum is an ideal way to kill time either at work or at home. Since I'm a semi retired, self employed blacksmith, this forum is a great way to pass time on days when it's just too hot to swing a hammer next to a 2,500 degree fire. Welcome. Independents always have a lean, but the idea is to not cater to one side or the other, but address by subject. Pull up a chair and dust off your keyboard.
An independent!? Those are rare round these parts. You will find a heavy lean right. My advice, identify the trolls or bad faith posters and block them quickly. There are only a few but are very prominent. As a past independent that has steered left for the same reasons you have — welcome! Be prepared to be pushed further left.
