Dr. Bender's predictions states quite specifically that there will be a doubling of category 4 and 5 hurricanes by 2100. It is a hypothesis that is succinct and testable. It'll just take another 80 years to make the final call on it. In what universe can you falsify a statement about 2100 in the year 2018?

Yep. And when you add up all of the warm and cold anomalies the northern hemisphere is still well above normal right now.

Fact: AGW hysteria is a wealth redistribution scheme with the primary benefactors being the UN and entities friendly to Democrat donors.

What concerns me, if we're to believe global warming is the cause of these high temps, is that all the trillions of dollars spent fighting global warming have done nothing. Just maybe this is occurring naturally. How many more trillions do we need to spend to make a difference? I mean, when you keep doing the same thing over and over and always get the same result....

 

I have my doubts.

 

It is just weather. We can't make any conclusions about the warming in the Arctic because of this one event.

But, when you see Arctic sea ice extents breaking records year after year in conjunction with persistent decadal warming then it's not so easy to ignore.

 

Probably not bad news at all. I agree with Freeman Dyson, in that a warming earth could very well turn out to be more positive than negative. And we will not know until we get there. For the alarmists to always claim it will be horrible, is just bull shi*t. For they do not know either.

A warming earth will perhaps open up more land for food production as population continues to grow. It may be the savior of humanity, not its destruction. And to claim that you know, is nothing but arrogance of a limited knowledge intellect.

It also seems there is no seriousness in trying to affect rising co2 levels, unless of course you do that with carbon taxes, redistributing more income to the top. No move towards worldwide land management to add co2 extracting flora, and no move to end rain forest destruction. Which makes ones wonder if AGW is not just another scheme to redistribute income. Like slave labor economic globalism. I will believe the world is serious when they begin land management and the ending of rain forest destruction. Which BTW I do not see calls for doing from the true believers in man and co2. So they are not serious either, but will just make posts when something is warmer than they think is normal. There is hardly a normal for climate given the history of a never ending change, cycling in climate.

The NH is running +1.4C, Arctic is +5.1C, and the World is +0.7C above the 1979-2000 average baseline as of 5pm EST last night.

Its only "weather" when it doesn't fit an agenda, the rest of the time its man made climate change. But the coup de grace for libs is when weather is warmer than usual, then man-God Obama can be correct twice for climate change and global warming.

 

1. The troposphere will warm.
2. The stratosphere will cool.
3. The warming will be more pronounced at the poles especially the north pole.
4. The diurnal temperature range will decrease.
5. The oceans will warm.
6. Arctic sea ice extents will decrease.
7. The warming will be more pronounced at night.

So far all of these predictions are supported by observation. Models didn't predict the magnitude of each with 100% precision, but they did make useful predictions. Denier predictions of each were so bad they couldn't even get the direction of the change correct on most items.

Now answer my question. Will ice freeze slower at -40F or -30F?

Remember, it's winter in the NH. This is the time of year in which ice is freezing. It's not expected to be melting this time of year. It is expected to be freezing. Arctic sea ice is increasing...just not as fast as it should be. Does this make sense?

 

So, even if it's true, what are you going to do about it? Prince Charles said the Earth would be better off without humanity. I notice he hasn't led the way. Will you? How do you propose we stop the Earth from warming? What are you doing to set an example? I have heard that some scientists say that if we implement every proposed whako scheme, there would still be no noticeable effect.

I notice that your pretty, colorful picture is for today. It was a lot different around here over the last couple of months.

Our technology gives us the ability to cool the Earth if it comes down to it, but not to warm it.
