How many miles of wall will $300M/year get you (The direct aid is $50M/year). That's less than the monthly maintenance cost of the existing wall. What it will get you is even less help from Mexico in helping to stop the drug flow into the US and less cooperation will criminal cases

Although I agree with you, your wishes will NEVER come to fruition. The democrat party looks at thee people as voters and not Republican voters. They could really care less about their welfare but they will come around to help them with their ballots come election time.
I will take the wall and then look at what you ask.

Just think of all those democrats that suffer pluralistic ignorance. Walls were great until 2016 then they did a 180. That is due to the blindness of snowflake butthurt TDS.

Sorry, but the wall does exist and sections of it have been built by every president since Clinton was in office. Ever consider the real emperor is the one who doesn't think there are sections of the wall already in place?
Enlighten yourself before you brag about your research abilities.

"But some 700 miles of border fencing had already been completed along the country's nearly 2,000-mile border with Mexico, much of it during Barack Obama's presidency, as part of the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which was signed by George W. Bush.

The type of fencing that extends from California to Texas varies according to the terrain and the population of the areas it borders, according to images released by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2011. The types of fencing includes wire mesh, chain link, post and rail, sheet piling, concrete barriers for vehicles and X-shaped steel beams for livestock."

Fair enough. I’m willing to split the difference. I just think we really missed a golden opportunity to really push through a legal reform agenda pre-2018 election.

You are aware that over one third of the 2000 mile long wall is already in place are you not?

You are soooo right. The more I reflect back the more I really dislike Paup Ryan. I understand the Republicans were really not sure how and if a Trump presidency would help or hurt them but it was clear to me that they all missed the boat and got little done. By the time they got their head out of their collective asses, it was too late. They left Trump hanging and over 40 of them didn't run for another term leaving the house to the Democrats for an easy win. Both parties are worthless which makes Trump that much more valuable to the average American.

Ryan was the worst of the bunch. Unfortunately the damage is done.

That's not what the poll asked that was taken four months ago.

You have to know how to read and comprehend "Military Times" polls.

In this case only pay attention to Marine and soldiers grunts and those in combat arms who do the actual fighting not the POG's or REMF's

Ok. So, as usual, you are unable to understand what the term means. "Pluralistic ignorance" has nothing to do with doing a 180 or not.

In any case, walls that exist are fine. Walls, drug traffic, a "caravan" of Islamist terrorists, ....that don't exist are the signs of your condition.

Yes! Not by Trump. And Mexico didn't pay for an inch of it.

The necessary useful wall/fence has been built by earlier administrations. The funds to maintain that wall has been appropriated. No government shutdown was necessary. No need to fool the gullible into believing that Islamic terrorists, or drugs or.... any of that BS

Where a wall is useful nobody has objected allocating funds. Even if new portions need to be added, because a technical assessment has deemed it necessary. But Trump's "wall' is a political ploy. It will never get built, of course. But he can throw quite a bit of taxpayer money into the gutter just to advance his political standing among his gullible base.

Now do you see the point?

Point is that stopping aid will not cover the cost of building the wall hence Mexico will not be paying for the wall by stopping the aid they receive

I don't think they ban you for saying what you think just because it's idiotic.

But yes... there will be no wall. But you'll have Trump saying "look at the pretty wall... look tat the patterns... look at the colors..." And his loyal cult will repeat it "it's a beautiful wall".... while they point tat the empty space.

But the rest of humanity... all rational thinking human beings... will see that the emperor has no clothes.

    Just like Hans Christen-Anderson prophesized.

Not MAGA. He has a name and it is Donald J. Trump.

Either intentionally or inadvertently, Trump is acting like a Russian agent. Putin's dream is to weaken the American government and throw it into chaos.

In December, contrary to the wishes of his own party, Trump proudly shut down the government over his border wall. It was the longest shutdown in American history. Now he is challenging the Separation of Powers concept contained in our Constitution, once again in opposition to his own party along with the Democrats. Congress appropriates funds. Trump wants to challenge Congress and go around the legislative branch.

In other words, Trump, all on his own, is creating a Constitutional crisis. Putin has to be smiling. He could not be more pleased with what Trump is doing.

Either by accident or by design or through sheer stupidity, Trump is acting like an agent for the Russian Federation. I do not understand how Americans who represent his fan base can support him on this. What in the world is their rationale?

You make it sound like it is the decades old struggle between the U.S. and Russia. That is not at all what I am talking about.

Trump's fans simply won't deal with these two issues.

If the President can't get his way -- funding from Congress -- can the President simply declare a national emergency to get that funding? Congress appropriates funds. Congress denied Trump his funds. Can the President challenge the Separation of Powers principle of our Constitution? Do even Republicans want Trump to establish a horrible precedent? Picture President Ocassio-Cortez declaring a national emergency and issuing an E.O. stating that all guns are illegal and banning the NRA.

Trump's fans and Republican leaders in Congress can't get it in their heads that Trump's wall and his immigration issues are a losing proposition. That is all Trump talked about at rallies leading up to the 2018 elections. The GOP lost 40 seats and control of the House. Despite a 26 to 9 advantage, they barely hung onto the Senate. They lost several state houses and state legislatures.

They know in their hearts Trump is a loser.

I see you are forced to agree with me. You couldn't challenge my statements because of their reality.

    But, then, you never do.

I never fail to take note of the lack of facts trump supporters provide to substantiate their over the top ridiculously insane cult-like denial.
