I have always marvelled at the Pro-Gun Anti-Gun spokes person, the original old time Religion type that preached that Hunting with Grampy's SxS was OK, and Mebe a Gun for home defense, but never Concealed Carry, or Assault weapons, or ask, why does anyone need high capacity magazines ? This type of Anti-Gunner does everyone a disservice by adding much confusion into the mix. Statements often made by The Pro-Gun Anti-Gunner; I am Pro-Gun, a Gun Owner, Instructor, I own a Gun Store etc..... Often posing as some type of Gun expert, yet advocating Gun Control of various types and to various degrees. Many times after a tragic shooting, the Pro-Gun Anti-Gunner is allied with Liberal Democrats trying to shame the rest of us into giving up Guns, Do it for the Children ! Many Pro-Gun Anti-Gunners voted for Hillary Clinton. Learn to Recognize the Pro-Gun Anti-Gunners among us, you will not be able to do much about them, Just do not get fooled into believing them anymore than a confessed dyed in the wool Anti-Gunner. Wolves in Sheep's disguise convincing many that some sort of Gun Control or compromise is best for us. The whole idea of Home Defense negates many ideal qualities of personal defense in General, you are likely to be attacked when outside the home as much as inside the home, and Anti-Gun advocates use this concept to limit the Second Amendment to the confines of the Home, rendering Concealed Carry a moot issue if people infrequently carry outside the home.
These, almost always older, people are still locked in the past. I'd bet not a single one lives in, or dares venture into an urban kill zone. I can usually suffer their ignorance and smile. However, in probably 99 out of 100 armed concealed carry encounters by civilians that lead to actually shooting---5 or 6 shots from a revolver are usually enough. On the other extreme are those ready for almost anything:
And yet many have treated me like the poor orphan because I still think a Revolver is a good bit of Ordnance. Not all Pro-Gun Anti-Gunners are older folks, you see lots of them in their early 20's, they just don't see the big picture.
I have a 8.375" M629 in 44 Magnum. Like any good piece of ordnance, it must be unlimbered before it can be fired.
I want another Chapter Arms .44 Special Bulldog ?? a 5 shot - 2" barrel, perhaps Stainless steel. Perhaps a Chapter Arms Undercover .38 Special too.
I learned how to shoot on a revolver (my grandfather was an old-school Southwestern lawman) and I still love them. I might carry a semi-auto, but the guns kept in the house for immediate defense are all revolvers. I also like shooting them in competition; did my ego a world of good shooting an IDPA match against 25 other shooters - ALL with semi-autos - and I finished 3rd overall running a S&W 65 .357. Guys were asking me how the Heck I learned to reload a revolver so fast.....
I wouldn't care what anyone thinks. It is a good bit of ordnance. I too own a revolver, a 45 long Colt, love shooting it, But I prefer my Colt 1911 45 for carry. Got the wife a Baretta PX 4, she didn't want it until we went to the range, now she loves it, I think confidence was a factor in getting her to accept it. I have numerous rifles my dad passed on to me. My Dad always told me use the gun that fits your hand, meaning the one you prefer. Mainly you'll be a better marksman with a gun you like. Last weekend I shot my friends new AR it was awesome.
