The Republican party mostly represents white people?

MSNBC discussed this aspect of the GOP today and after I got past the initial shock of the boldness of this statement, I got to thinking about it and I believe it's pretty much the truth. Is that what this election is all about? The GOP (the whites) versus the Democratic party (the party where blacks, minorities are represented)? If you're honest, I think you'll admit this is MOSTLY true. Opinions?

 

It seems that way to me, also, but I keep waiting for one of them to explain it to me. 'Cause I'm pretty sure that they're not all wearing sheets on the weekends.

The overt racists on the forum don't seem to be voting democrat. They're actually yelling at the democrats for being too liberal. And they're yelling at the liberals for being racist ... but only against white people, which is apparently the only kind of racism that they think exists, and they see it everywhere.

It's very confusing.

 

My opinion is that they mostly represent monied interests. Many of the middle to lower class and poor whites that support them would be better served not doing so. They are basically voting against their own self interests because they don't want to lump themsleves in with minorities. Like religious, Southern white trash, they totally vote against their own economic self interests just so they can identify with that group.

 

Confusing perhaps...but why is it minorities generally gravitate towards the Democratic party, and the wealthy towards the GOP? Why can't the GOP successfully rally the black/minority vote? Maybe there's something to the generalization that the GOP consists of whites and the Democrats are where the non whites need to go to be represented. You can't really BS the populous when it comes to this subject. Everybody knows what I'm talking about.

 

I disagree, Mitt would like any black guy with an 8 figure portfolio. I think I read that about 8% of blacks voted Republican, and honestly, that might bethe 8% of their populations in the hgher tax brackets.

 

As minorities break from the poor family cycle, they start voting less and less democrat because they want to keep what they have earned. Their are other minority groups that probably vote a little different. I would like to see how the average asian and middle eastern populations vote....

Idk maybe for some people, but i think its more of " keep what I have".............when you have children, they have children, and you are responsible for charities and other things, money goes fast... especially when you dont have government checks flying in every month.

 

I see.....so..I should aspire to get on welfare, so those government checks start "flying" on in??? You make it sound like being on welfare is the way to go. Why aren't we all on it, if it's so desirable?

 

Should you aspire to get on welfare? You probably are already on it in some shape or form whether you will admit it or not............ so inspire to get off welfare. What part of what I said makes welfare sound like a good thing? Or is that the image you already had in your head?

 

But the truth is, I think Republican policy is only truly beneficial to maybe 5% of the population or even less. I have a 6-figure salary and I am certain that Republican ideas cost me more than I get in return. They tell you they want to cut your taxes, so you get back a few hundred, maybe a few extra thousand even, but their policies drive up other things, health care, education, that could easily be made way cheaper with leftist ideas.

 

The GOP represents everyone. At the present time, the Democratic Party has the majority of blacks fooled into thinking that the Dem party represents them.

Not all blacks believe that, thank God. And it will get cleared up eventually.

Not every GOPer is exactly a good guy, of course. But it is very clear that the GOP is more the party of love.

 

Funny how the party that's supposed to help minorities only makes sure to keep them poor ignorant and stupid, since the only way to get votes is to keep promising how much they'll help, generation after generation after generation. Funny how nothing has changed for them? So explain again how much Democrats have helped the poor besides making sure to keep them poor and disenfranchised to insure votes. Look at the message. Rich wealthy people only want to hurt you. They're the bad ones. Funny how the ones suposedly helping ARE the rich people.

flying in = coming in the mail. Many parcels and mail will at some point "fly" while it is being delivered, thus where part of the "expression " comes from.

Its like when someone says "holly (*)(*)(*)(*) or Holly cow" . There isnt actually a cow, its a form of expression. Do you understand better?


Where in the world did you think this was an "attractive lifestyle" comment? How did you draw that conclusion?

 

Blacks in general are really complimented when nearly every Republican declares loudly how stupid blacks are, as a race, for voting Democratic. They really appreciate those "plantation" comments most of all.

No, it couldn't be that blacks vote Democratic because it's in their best interest, and thus rational. It _must_ be because blacks are so stupid.

(And to think so many Republicans here are baffled by the reaction they get.)

 

It's absolutely true. It also means that race relations in this country are about to add a dangerous new dimension. But it is what it is. Live with it.

 

There are two groups of whites imo. Elite whites and non-elite whites. Half of elite whites are leftists imo and the rest are probably conservatives. However, with the exception of unmarried women the overwhelming majority of non-elite whites are conservatives. Those folks have no place else to go. Get used to it.

 

I don't think that's how it works for white people. But I'm honestly not sure about that.
