Naturally; it will end Capitalism. Fore, if we're able to sustain ourselves on what we put out, and turn waste into resource, well, game over for Capitalism. In this thread, I wish to look at the economical impact on the ultimate Socialist and Science win. Science and The Replicator. What branches of Science would we need? Quantum mechanics and physics to move the atoms to change shape/and structure perhaps?

We need to discover a Unified Field Theory to create matter from energy, as well as the reverse: energy from matter. We need our physicists to unite the fundamental forces of the universe into one single equation. That's what I hear.
Likely more developmental work will be needed in the field of quantum coherence. If you don't know what that is, coherence is an effect that uses the wave-like property of interference, in this case to use one beam to control the coherence of another beam without imparting any energy to it. If you have ever read up on the subject of laser hologram photography, a beam can be used to scan an object, storing the picture on a 2-dimensional photographic plate that can later be used to reconstruct a 3-dimensional holographic image. Storing the information needed to replicate objects would likely be analogous to that (although much more complex and precise).
