That is a difference without a distinction and is just as repulsive to parents. You DO understand that, right.
I mean, what in the hell happened to the morals of the right?
Anyone out there want a 32 year old man to be hitting on their 14 year old daughter? Really?
The GOP has forever lost it's claim on morality. It has none.

Oh, yes they can: for behavior that is "disorderly" of a US Senator. Is in the bylaws for the US Senate.

It may be repulsive but he could take a lie detector test and pass it by saying he is not a pedophile. He would not be perjuring himself in saying it under oath either. Words are important when dealing with legal matters. As to the GOP losing its claim of morality. That would only be the case if you judge a whole organisation based on a few individuals. Do you say the same about the Democrats? Or what about teachers, coaches, doctors, or priests. There are examples in all of these fields. Repulsive people are everywhere.

Teachers, coaches, doctors and/or priests are not elected.
    Politicians are.

I dont know if that is relevant. They are all positions of authority and trust that can and has been abused. Also all but the doctor works for the government.
