We could have a national ID card that can be loaded up with "cards" we use--for Social Security, driver's license, voter ID, medical care, and so on. People here legally on a visa can get the card, but it won't work when the visa runs out. It will never work for voting until it's converted from a visa card to a citizenship card.

We can solve all sorts of problems at the same time.

Race isn't something that defines us whereas gender does. I'm not singling out whites--everyone should ID first as a human being and only address race when someone else makes it an issue.

Spaniards and French often look alike. There are plenty of Mexicans who look like Spanish who never intermarried.

If you think we need stepped up border enforcement, you're right. Do we need a $30b wall? Probably not.

 

The simplest solution is stepping up the quality of E-verify and back it enforcement of laws about hiring, harboring or otherwise supporting illegal immigration.

Building a secure virtual wall around the US is a good thing. More important, IMO, than "Star Wars".

 

But not from Spaniards who immigrated to Mexico and never married other than Spaniards.

Northern Europeans like the Danes or Swedes are more likely to be blonde and very pale, but there are some very light Spaniards, including natural blondes.

 

Or my cousin-in-law, whose ancestors came from Italy, but his family is fourth-generation Nicaraguan. He could be South American, Central American, Spanish or Italian. Mostly, he just looks human.

 

Exactly, and how does those other Southern Euros look like this one? There is an obvious distinction between Northern- and Southern Europeans and furthermore, you know darn well that most Mexicans are Mestizos and do not look like the ones you linked who are exceptions rather than the norm.

The fact remains we are 99.9% alike and only 0.1% difference genetically. Our main differences are cultural.

 

Socio-cultural conflict has zero to do with genetics and everything to do with culture.

That some Mexicans look like white Europeans because they never intermarried with indigenous people in Mexico or people who themselves intermarried.

There is discrimination in Mexico and the darker you are, the further down the pole you are.
