Monash, I understand your position but my own position is different. I have an obligation to stand up for the Constitutional rights of my fellow Americans and whenever they are under attack I will defend those rights.

Those that oppose abortion do so with the nefarious intent of not only depriving women of their rights but are doing it in direct violation of the Separation of Church and State prohibition in the 1st Amendment. Their RELIGIOUS BELIEF regarding a fetus cannot be allowed to override the Constitutional stipulation that rights belong to the "natural born".

The blatant LIES about a "fetus" being "ripped apart" without the benefit of anesthesia are the EMOTIVE means to IMPOSE a THEIST BELIEF on the Law of the Land in VIOLATION of women's rights.

Standing up and EXPOSING those LIES is the only way to ensure that they cannot become the Law of the Land. Yes, this is a thankless task but the price of freedom is eternal vigilance and thus I do what needs to be done.

 

I can respect you position even if I don't emulate it. The debate on abortion is framed differently over here, for the most part it has largely been decided in favor of the mothers rights. But as I said previously, nobody wins.

 

Most of the civilized western nations with few exceptions have upheld the rights of women. However here in America there is an ongoing assault on our rights of all kinds. This is just one of the more egregious ones.

Yes, this is a thread about medical malpractice that was disingenuously being used by the extremist religious right as a means to attack the LBGT community.

Note that it was from that same source that the deflection about abortion was nefariously introduced in post #101 with yet another disingenuous falsehood about abortion.

The pattern of behavior by that extremist element seldom varies from the SOP of introducing a canard and using that as a blunt instrument to advance an extremist theist agenda to the detriment of the rights of our fellow Americans. This perverse tactic can be observed in the Science, Political and even the Humor forums.

 

The thread is also about transgenderism, because this example also shows how gender isn't taught. They taught this child from an infant to be a girl and they couldn't make the change.
