    1 Corinthians 8:13 ?
    Parallel Verses

Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.

    10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;

11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?

12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.

13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

On the subject of abortion it is neither right nor wrong. It is wrong if you believe that you are killing an actual human being. If you believe that an abortion is just a medical procedure that will prevent you from having a child that you donot want, then you should have the abortion.

It is your mindset that is at play (conscience) when it comes to the abortion issue. It is up to the woman to decide if having an abortion is right or wrong: the choice is her's

Another thing to consider is on religious grounds is that God is all powerful. Do you sincerily believe that man can beat God at anything. If God wants a child to come here, that child will come here. The child may not come to the parent that does not want him or her; but God is so powerful that child will be born.

Jesus said: John 8:42: "Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Where did we come from if we did not come from God; is He not our father? Bad or evil people do not know that they came from God. so they do bad things.

Some man or woman will say aren't you glad that weren't aborted.. My answer is if I had a choice of leaving the Godhead; where you are in total bliss and peace or to come here, I would choose God every time.

Consider this: Have you ever seen a child that was born coming out of the womb doing cartwheels, because they finally made it to this world. When they come out of the womb they cry: Ecclesiastes 7:1: A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth. Contrary to popular opinion, birth is the most traumatic experience that affects us so profusely that we never recover from it.. I will address the entire subject in my upcoming book titled "The Crying Time" by P. M. Kaywood Jr. December 2017, :)blankstare:parallel View Publishing)

The Bible is a book of fairy tales. It is irrelevant to the debate.

    Rest of post is tl;dr.

You seem to have a balanced and reasonable position - despite coming from a religious perspective. Bravo !

There passage in Numbers where abortion is proscribed ( commanded by God) in the case where a woman has had a child by another man. There are other places where God orders the Israelite's to kill pregnant women - obviously the child is killed as well.

Given such examples - and a complete lack of commentary against abortion directly (which was around in both OT and NT times) - there really is no valid Biblical case for against abortion.

The "Are you not glad you were not aborted" is a bit of a linguistic fallacy.
You may not have actually existed if the abortion was performed in the early stages of pregnancy.

And - as you point out - there is no guarantee that one is not better off not being born.

It is a stupid argument on both accounts - showing that one does not need great logic skills to be President (Reagan made this argument).
