Less that one half of Americans are employed full-time

All the phoney numbers and claims aside, the truth is that our economy sucks and more and more of us are feeling it where it hurts – in our pocketbook.

The Obamabots will instantly attack this as being from a “mere blog” without trying to actually refute what it contains.

    Does that surprise anyone?

December’s job gains were revised up to 329,000 and November to a whopping 423,000. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report Friday, the unemployment rate rose to 5.7 percent as more people started looking for work again. And you believe this male bovine excrement?

How many new jobs have been created at a 40-hour week? Full-time?

And how many eligible workers are no longer in the job market?

Also the number of people quitting jobs is up and the number of people who said they're working part time because they found nothing else is falling. The crappy part time job in low wage sectors was a recession problem, considering places like Walmart and Kroger etc. survived fine because people still need to eat (even if by way of food stamps) and wipe their butts with toilet paper. Also food stamp enrollment is declining meaning people are working more gainfully employed jobs. People may have dropped out of the lane force early on in the recession but your really think they're not at least looking for employment now? UE eventually runs out and people don't have giant wads of cash laying around.

No, as Obama hasn't been able to transform the economy. Economies with greater 'labour market flexibility' have found employment generation skewed towards short term profiteering low wage endeavour. The real question is: what do you think should be done about it? The reality won't be palatable to many Americans: the need for living wage, further support for collective bargaining and a concerted effort to reduce income inequality in order to encourage risk taking behaviour in self-employment

U.S. job openings hit record high, more workers quitting
May 8, 2018 | WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. job openings surged to a record high in March, suggesting that a recent slowdown in hiring was probably the result of employers having difficulties finding qualified workers.
