The Putin hyperbole machine has been telling the whole world for many many months now that the Kinzhal missile is a flying testament to the amazingly high level of military technology being carefully crafted and loving created in Babushka Ludomanka's voddynborscht lab....the only comparable military capability anywhere in the known universe being the planet melting death rays installed on Galactic Commander Tarka Dhal's spacecruisers of the mighty Vindaloovian Empire!! The problem for Putin and all the myth and mystique he's claimed for this faster than light planet shattering missile, unfortunately came crashing down in flames when Ukraine brought a whole flight of them.....well....crashing down in flames. Thus, that became a bit of a puzzler for the hyperbole machine as it wasn't supposed to happen...how can that happen when they are so fast...and so speedy and so....miserably Russian. So rather annoyingly it seems to have been pointed out to Putin that the Kinzhal is in fact pretty well useless up against anything that hasn't been build out of washing machine parts....so the moral being never let a good story get in the way of Putin's miraculous technological death machines.....or vice versa....hmmmm.

Oh and guess what China nicked the designs for their hyper doohdad thing from Russia....ah bless....

If you think about it, in terms of the value of kit the US has donated to the Ukrainians, its equivalent to what...roughly 5% of the defence budget...something like that? And for that they've destroyed 50% of the Russian land forces.

The patriot system has a radar range of about 100 miles, max. The Kinzhal hypersonic missile travels at approximately 120 miles/second. That leaves 8/10ths of a second for the Patriot to detect, engage, fire and intercept.....

Human reaction time is 4/10ths of a second. If a patriot operator hit the fire button at 100 miles out, the patriot missile wouldn't leave the launch tube before it was hit.

120 miles/second is an absolutely absurd speed for any missile, or indeed any object traveling through our atmosphere. Meteors that hit the atmosphere burn up at much lower speeds than that. Your claim is physically impossible.

Dude. The Khinzal is a BALLISTIC TRAJECTORY without randomized course correction or countermeasures. Its not a ****ing cruise missile. It doesn't matter how fast it moves, the intercept point is known.
Our detection systems allow us to fire countermeasures that at a certain time will occupy the same space as your wunderwaffe horseshit.

Biden tells G7 allies the US will support joint F-16 training effort for Ukrainians

President Joe Biden informed G7 leaders on Friday that the US will support a joint effort with allies and partners to train Ukrainian pilots on fourth generation aircraft, including F-16s, a senior administration official tells CNN.

The training is not expected to happen in the US, the official said, and will likely happen entirely in Europe. But US personnel will participate in the training alongside allies and partners in Europe, the official said. It is expected to take several months to complete and the official said the hope is it will begin “in the coming weeks.”

The decision marks a stark turnaround for Biden, who said earlier this year that he did not believe that Ukraine needed the F-16s. The decision to support the training initiative came together very quickly, officials said, and was made by Biden following meetings with G7 leaders in Hiroshima, Japan, where the topic of F-16s to Ukraine was a key point of discussion. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been pushing particularly hard in recent days for countries that have the jets in their stockpile to send them to Ukraine so that the country can better defend itself against Russia’s daily aerial attacks.

This is very interesting because the US Air Force thought Warthogs and helicopters were the priority. The F16 is vulnerable to Russian ground to air missiles. That said to train someone on an F16 properly (not the Russian way) can take 6 months to a year depending on what they flew before and how adaptable these pilots are. Its far more complex than learning to fly a Russian jet.

Ok the decision appears to have been made. That's a long term commitment. That's a loud message to Russia the US means long term if it has to in assisting Ukraine. That sends an intimidating message to the Soviet air force already suffering huge pilot losses from bad training and I think that is what was intended by the message.

This appears to be entrenching into a long term war of attrition. I just do not see an end to it unless Putin is removed and even if he is removed they put in someone just as bad or worse than him.

I predict Putin is killed this year by his own people. I go with poisoning. I am also going out and saying his buddy Donny T is 70% likely to have a stroke or heart attack and die within the next two years.
