You can't put a price on protecting the Homeland against bad hombres! The delay will buy valuable time for the Border Patrol to swoop, and the word would soon get around in Mexico- "Hey amigos, we got no chance of getting into the US, so eet's no use trying!".. PS- I got an idea!- To save money the anti-Trump States of Cal and NM needn't have a wall because they love the illegals so much that they can let 'em walk straight in and sell drugs to their kids.. That all sounds good to me. As you might know from what I've already said, I've never been convinced that a wall is the way to go.
Actually most of my life was spent in San Diego and illegals entered often. Thing is, Many came by small boats overnight. You would often see abandoned craft on rocky beaches in southern areas. A few did get across by land but were usually smuggled through border crossings.
