On the other hand it has never been done on this scale before. And that which one does not look for is damn hard to find.

I get mail every day addressed to the four people who previously lived here. I hope I receive their four ballots, plus mine. That's five votes for Trump.

ARe you kidding me? It's been thoroughly investigated, studies have been done. A cursory check and I found this: I'm sure I could find more.

    http://www.projectvote.org/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/Politics_of_Voter_Fraud_Final.pdf

Even Trump installed a commission to investigate voter fraud when he first took office, and it was disbanded. You want to know why it was disbanded? They couldn't find any fraud. The commission was headed by former Secy of State Kansas Kris Kobach, who has been saying for years there are illegals voting, and blah blah blah. Well, as head of this commission , now he could put government resources to prove his case.

Well, things didn't turn to well for Kobach ( and Trump )

    https://www.propublica.org/article/kris-kobach-voter-fraud-kansas-trial

Palast sued Kemp for fraudulent voter purges in Georgia and wins.
    https://www.gregpalast.com/palast-scores-victory-in-lawsuit-against-brian-kemp/

In fact the real perpetrators of fraud is Trump and the republicans, starting with a program called interstate crosscheck, and "voter caging' and who was behind that? Kris Kobach.

It was disbanded because most states wouldn't comply with information requests

Even if they had completed it, it would not have been a comprehensive complete investigation. To truly determine whether there is voter fraud, you would have to a very large sample of voters, ask who they voted for and then compare that to the election results.

Of course that can not take place for obvious reasons. But to blindly say there is no voter fraud because it has not been detected is closing your eyes to reality. We can never be sure there is no voter fraud. The best we can do is to try to set the system up so that voter fraud is more difficult.

Did you even bother to research WHY they didn't? Scroll down to the section that's headed

Each state stated why they refused to provide Kobach with SSNs, Personal data, citing privacy concerns, noting that Kobach as a long history of disenfranchising voters in Kansas, he's known as the 'voter supression king'.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2017/07/03/...voter-fraud-commission-information/index.html

    Scroll down to the section:

State of Play: Where do the states stand?

Alabama: "This office will not share any information not already available to the public. ..." Secretary of State John Merrill said in a statement Friday.
Alaska: The Division of Elections will release only public information, according to a press release from Lt. Gov. Byron Mallott Friday. "State law allows only some information to be public. Public information does not include: last four numbers of SSN, date of birth, or residence address," among other data.
Arizona: "We will only make available the same redacted information that is available to the general public through a public records request," Secretary of State Michele Reagan said in a statement Friday. "Social security numbers, Date of Birth and identifying information such as Mother's maiden name will not be transmitted. Arizona's voters can expect to have their personal information remain private and safe."
California: "I will not provide sensitive voter information to a commission that has already inaccurately passed judgment that millions of Californians voted illegally. ..." Secretary of State Alex Padilla said in a statement Thursday. "California's participation would only serve to legitimize the false and already debunked claims of massive voter fraud made by the President, the Vice President, and Mr. Kobach. The President's Commission is a waste of taxpayer money and a distraction from the real threats to the integrity of our elections today: aging voting systems and documented Russian interference in our elections."
Indiana: "Indiana law doesn't permit the Secretary of State to provide the personal information requested by Secretary Kobach," Secretary of State Connie Lawson tweeted Friday. "Under Indiana public records laws, certain voter info is available to the public, the media and any other person who requested the information for non-commercial purposes. The information publicly available is name, address and congressional district assignment.
Louisiana: "The President's Commission has quickly politicized its work by asking states for an incredible amount of voter data that I have, time and time again, refused to release," Secretary of State Tom Schedler said in a statement Monday. "My response to the Commission is, you're not going to play politics with Louisiana's voter data, and if you are, then you can purchase the limited public information available by law, to any candidate running for office. That's it."
Maine: "Maine citizens can be confident that our office will not release any data that is protected under Maine law, to the commission or any other requesting entity," Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap said in a press release Friday. The statement noted that Maine law allows the release of the voter's name, year of birth, residence address, mailing address, voter status, voter record number and any special designations indicating uniformed service voters, overseas voters or township voters, but not Social Security number.

    etc.

Common sense is the only evidence in this matter. The fraud would occur if it is handled by corrupt individuals. There are many corrupt people involved in politics. Therefore it is likely that it will increase voter fraud. How much? Nobody knows. Common sense doesn't cover the details.

Absentee ballots compromise the secret ballot process, a hallmark of U.S. elections for over 100 years. Voters are vulnerable to intimidation and pressure tactics by campaigns because these ballots are being filled out without the supervision of election officials.

Absentee ballots are “the tool of choice” of vote thieves and those willing to compromise the election process.

According to U.S. Election Assistance Com- mission surveys, millions of mailed ballots have been misdirected or gone missing in prior elections.

Electronic signatures are too imprecise and easily duplicated, and should not be accepted

Automatically mailing a ballot to all registered voters is an open invitation to fraud and abuse.

Not every new resident at an address throws out the ballot that is still being automatically mailed to a former resident, and third parties may canvass neighborhoods looking for those “extra” ballots—with some being tempted to cast those extra votes.

States should ban “vote harvesting” and not allow candidates, party activists, or political consultants who have a stake in the outcome, to collect absentee ballots from voters.

Many regions and zipcodes postage is prepaid, but not always. Depends on state and region. IN CA, for example, often it is prepaid, but not in every city.
And the number of stamps may vary.

Yes, we've head these arguments for years, but studies show that the actual amount of fraud is so small it's insignificant.

Most criminals commit fraud for IMMEDIATE financial gain. As such, fraudulent ballots are not profitable.

But, for large corporations and republicans, there is a great financial incentive to install republicans in office, so they influence the vote in deceptive ways, and here is how they do it:

No, because individual fraudsters are on the short game. Fraudsters are after cash, they are not political, and there is no profit in tampering with the vote.. Also, five years in the slammer if you commit voter fraud, so why risk jail when there is no financial gain? It makes no sense.

Corporations and politicians are playing the long game. There is great profit in influencing the vote (by installing republicans in office ) because republicans love corporations and let them get away with all kinds of stuff, polluting, cutting wages, cornering markets, etc, and they are political. They would not tamper with the ballot as that is illegal ( inconsistent with the long game), but they can manipulate it with "interstate crosscheck" "voter caging" "gerrymandering" "limiting access to polls in lower income neighborhoods" and other assorted voter suppression tactics, etc, etc., etc.

Therefore, there is no inconsistency as both can coexist without conflicting the other. Watch the film, Palast is a very entertaining film maker, and does he pack a punch!

    Whose studies?
and some political parties that are desperate for a win commit fraud.
Yeah and we should just take the word of someone who writes for a tabloid, an extremely biased leftist tabloid.

Except for local elections individual fraudsters can be as political as large corporations and can also be after the long game. There be big money in local decisions.

Your explanation does not hold up. It is nothing more than political bias and democrats are just as apt to be after the big money as republicans. .
