If you come to the Rocky Mountains enjoy the skiing, the boating, the hiking and backpacking, and the legal dope in Colorado. But don't take the dope out of Colorado. Smoke it all there.

I guess the same could be applied to meeting Queen.
If you do pick your nose, don't tell the Queen.

Colorado has literally gone to pot.

Their local crime rate has skyrocketed.

They have had a major influx of potheads who are jobless and unemployable.

And Colombians are taking over many of the big land tracts to grow weed there.

Dope moves out of Colorado into the neighboring states that don't want it like (from north clockwise) Wyoming, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona (which already has enough problems with Mexican dope coming through), and Utah.

This makes Colorado a giant anus in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. It is truly a sh!t-hole now.

I am thinking about going to Oregon... Like to Springfield (by Eugene) and... Maybe a weekend in Portland just to touch base with a city (I am from the Big City)/and to say I've seen Portland...
I wanted to go to Springfield, OR before I found out they had recreational pot there.

    Depends on what you want.

Oregon has some great fishing towns all along the coast. Their rocky shorelines are packed with abalone -- a large sea snail that tastes like a clam.

And the major rivers in Oregon are teeming with salmon and trout.

The forests in Oregon are crowded with blacktail deer and elk.

I would prefer a small town rather than the bigger cities like Portland, Eugene, etc.

In some ways Oregon is a paradise. But I don't have any family up there so I moved to the Rocky Mountains where my sister and nieces live instead.

    I'm a nerd.
    I'm a nerd from London.
I'm a nerd in my fandom of the odd nerdy thing, like The Simpsons or Star Trek.
and... I'm a nerd who fell in love with the idea of visiting Springfield, OR because I heard it was where the show The Simpsons was really based and... I YouTube'd it and all sorts of my nerdy fandom lit up but, if anything, it looked decent/compared to the hustle and bustle of life here in London. I thought to myself 'to live the life of The Simpsons for a week or 2'... I also figure.. Since I am from London, I wouldn't mind a weekend in Portland to touch base with big city life in a really nice hotel.
I plan to rent this motel which didn't look special but looked like it could be from The Simpsons along this main street in Springfield which also... Was in walking distance along the same main street as the Enterprise Rental, so my thinking was when I looked into it:
Arrive in Eugene, OR just after midnight, take a taxi the 20 minutes from the airport in Eugene to this motel/hotel in Springfield I want, get my sleep (I forget how many hours but it's 2 flights from London).. and wake up refreshed and rent my car, and then... IDK...
Go to the supermarket, do my shopping, drive around the town, see what there is to do. I've heard they've got bars and TN'A Bars and stuff, so, why not? But whatever, just spend it not working, not studying, not lobbying or bitching. - I will probably miss my guitar, but it should be in London waiting for me.
I figure if I get bored, I can just watch the Simpsons, watch TV, try American snacks and stuff.
They have a place to go hiking, I also plan to use my run keeper app and go on this trail there.
Then Friday, drive to Portland, touch base with a city, go out, night on the town, swanky 5 star hotel, nice part of downtown...
Check in Friday, 2 nights 3 days, check out Sunday, back to Springfield, continue to take it easy, and check out the following Sunday, drive to the airport, return the rental there, fly home, arrive in London Monday Morning.
I've been advised to do this trip in the Summer as it gets real cold there in the winter.
    - and then I found out they've got pot.

    I YouTube'd it last February and found this;

In America, as the greatest country on earth, we eat breakfast.

Not a croissant, not a sandwich, and not a boiled egg. I hate Europe for the fact that their definition of "breakfast" is highly reflective of their poor productivity and economic output.

Corn Beef hash could literally double the GDP of France and Italy.

You could easily argue that Russia with its rich history is the greatest.

Or China with millennia of history.

Anyway those are the Big 3 when you include the USA.

You could argue as well that Switzerland is better than all 3 of them.

    I have a Commie gun. It is a CZ 97B 45 ACP.

And I believe in Commie healthcare aka Obamacare.

But that's all that's Commie about me.

BTW you should always capitalize Commie since it refers to Communism and that is a name, like Nazi or Democrat or Republican.

In the US, never ask what someone's parents did.

In certain circles, such as some clubs, it could be seen as a social put down to a person who now holds professional status. When one first joins such a group, there will initially be pointed questions as to what one's employment is and what one's spouse does, but I have never seen anyone go so far as to ask about the employment of a new member's parent/s..

It could be that this attitude is softening now in some circles due to the erosion of the middle class, and an increasing recognition of the need for hard skills as opposed to a liberal arts education. In other circles, I suspect it may now be occurring, due to the social divide that has been growing.

I'm rather proud of the fact that I'm plain white trash, my mother grew up in a trailer, and I didn't graduate high school. My family comes from the new money white trash of European nobility, I inherited a sustainable amount of property(from the perspective of the average American), and then married into the 1%.

At this very moment I am noticeably filthy and smell like literal ****, because unlike most people, regardless of social or economic standing, I am one of the rare few who gets to actually do what they genuinely love.

I understand that Americans are pretty unusual in this, that Americans' personal space bubble is the largest in the world, the Italians' the smallest. It's supposed to be pretty funny watching an American and a foreigner trying to negotiate their personal space, with a foreigner trying to get closer and the American trying to get further away.

That and Fish & Chips and English Breakfast, are what I rate too; Also Cornish Pasty. - Cumberland Sausage is nice (In my English Breakfast) in my Bangers and Mash, not really too fussed about Toad in the Hole...
To Hell with Steak and Kidney & Eel Pies and Beef Wellington though.

Shepard's Pie is lamb based, Cottage Pie is beef based. Fisherman's Pie is slighty different as it's fish and buttery sort of this pie - These are all the same sort of pie though.

I make my shepherds pie with hamburger, gravy, onions, potatoes of course, garlic, cheddar cheese and a little cayenne pepper sprinkled over for some heat.

I'm starting to have second thoughts about America.

The place I want looks fun but everyone either says it's in a rough neighborhood and there or bugs everywhere. People call it a dive. People have suggested tetanus shots. It's redeeming qualities are freedom and location.
I justify this experience I want to take, all of the above I've done in England so, I'm made of grit, IDK, and a lot of complaints come from...
It's like playing Russian Roulette with my holiday/vacation - is it going to be nice? am I going to hate it? Will I see a hobo house spider? Will I attacked by hobos? Will I be attacked by kids? Will I be attacked gangsters? Will I be attacked by trans gendered prostitutes - could be fun for a week or hell on Earth. IDK. But... I'd hate myself if I never found out.
