I have always thought that the states having more power was a better way to contain the government powers as a whole and a great way to "experiment" like is so commonly quoted.

Personally I think the Federal government now has WAY more power than it should and why I tend to lean more to the right than the left. The left seems to want the Fed's to have more and more power and I think that centralization, for such a big country like we have, is really bad for the future.

 

Go to Scandinavia, it is truly amazing. Only been to Sweden but loved it, I may go to Norway later this year!

Although a lot of them are bad examples considering they are basically northern versions of Kuwait/UAE/Qatar since Norway for example has like 90%+ of their GDP from oil industries.

What a great country to be born in to, the more I thought about it.

Basically one, single ethnicity, definitely has drawbacks to being so but the unity in Sweden when I was there was simply amazing. Norway I have heard is even "more of that" but I will let ya know soon!

Almost everyone is super into the outdoors and the women are absolutely gorgeous!

Unfortunately Norway has also been one of the poorest performing countries in the developed world and a lot feel it is going to get even worse.

If you taxed all the currency on earth, and gave it to the DNC, they would still run a deficit. I'm astounded at how fiscally irresponsible they have become in my lifetime. Young Democrats may not know this but, there was a time when the two parties argued over WHAT to cut, not IF we should cut at all.

 

I have been to Sweden for two weeks, it was absolutely gorgeous. I have heard plenty about the "no go zones" but didn't personally see any for my 4 days in Stockholm.

While I would never put them above our country it is still a beautiful place to visit and if you aren't as much of an 'individualism' type of person, I think it would be a great place to live.

I love my country BECAUSE of the competitiveness, while we may not be #1 when you average everything out, our peaks are almost always higher than the rest of the world. Due to the mentality of always wanting to be better, we have created a culture that thrives on, performance, creativity, entrepreneurship and growth throughout the United States. For the people who do not like it we have a pretty damn good public sector and welfare system in place.

Of course there are some that would disagree with that and point to "Some countries GIVE more", I think we tow the line just fine between giving help where it is needed and making people have to rely on themselves. Tweaks can and should always be made, but yeah....

Anyways, Sweden is a beautiful country and compared to the majority on this planet we call Earth, a successful nation, whether you disagree with certain policies or want to avoid certain blocks of their capital or not.

 

We want a prosperous business. Even though Trump is new to the job, there is mild improvement. Too soon for major improvements. Study U6 and forget the unemployment numbers. We have a low labor participation rate. U6 explains we actually have unemployment in the 8 or 9 percent range.

 

Like all other european countries Sweden has not future due to lack of native children. An average Swede ( German, Frenchman etc ) has 1.4 - 1.8 children, but Muslim immigrants three or more times more. The more children they have the more money they receive from leftist state.They must never work, that's crazy!In twenty years most of European countries will became poor Caliphates with Sharia law.

 

If we here in CA loaned some of our Giant trees to Sweden, I am sure the world would compliment Sweden for that beauty.

If we managed to send our Sierra mountains to them, they would understand awesome beauty, such as Yosemite Park.

 

No Sweden looks pretty good, while I agree I think the immigrant thing will be a problem I think that the whole immigration thing is going to ebb fairly soon. Be it from the sentiment changing to more anti-immigrant and pro-right policies and hopefully the ISIS thing coming to an end, I think the flood will stop.

Other than that though, Sweden has done a great job of diversifying their economy to better prepare for the "anti-oil" future, unlike Finland, Demnark and Norway.

While I agree, "the left" over-praises Sweden (Scandinavia) like crazy and I see what you are getting at, that changes nothing for the natural beuaty the land there holds as well as teh overall perspective of the people there. It is just a flat out cleaner place overall than much of the US.

Although hiking half dome in Sweden would most likely be EVEN MORE of a pain!

 

I have a daughter that beat the entire class to the top of half dome. CA has to it's credit stepped it way up to preserve the clean state. I don't get into the immigrant areas so can't comment on those or the Mexican ran areas. Those might be dirty.

And I have been to Virginia, definitely a beautiful place. I travel A LOT for work and do an international vacation with friedns once per year, so far can say 38 States and 43 Countries!

Still though, all of this means nothing to the fact that Sweden is a gorgeous country
