I wouldn't characterize people who want to work but are no longer allowed to work just because they don't trust the pharmaceutical corporations as 'quitting', but then I'm not an authoritarian either...

But, but.... conservatives quitting their jobs must be Biden's fault. Just like conservatives not getting vaccinated must be Biden's fault.

I have seen a few threads recently about the large number of people quitting their jobs. I haven't really followed the threads but what exactly is the problem with this number being high. It is not like these people are being laid off or fired. They are leaving voluntarily. I assume their goal is to find a better job or company to work for if they do not already have one. They do not collect unemployment so they are not a drain on society unless they apply for welfare.

So just to get this straight, Thousands of law enforcement, first responders, medical staff, airline pilots, air traffic controllers, and federal employees walking off the job over ignorant mandates when they have better immunity than the vaccine. Our ports unable to unload container ships, 47 hospitals shut down with over 300 more on the brink due to bankruptcies and staff shortages over these ignorant mandates and you are celebrating because you think more people are quitting in red states?

Think about that when you are sitting in a waiting room for 20 hours or you can't get a response from law enforcement when you need it.
    You won't be celebrating then.

You've drilled down into this phenomenon more than most. You're quite right, that a significant proportion are 'quitting' for greener pastures. It's happening primarily in entry level jobs (because people have realised it's not enough to stay in that situation forever), but it's also happening amongst professionals who've realised they don't need to be a slave to the corporation to stay alive.

There's far more to this than meets the eye. It's a cultural shift.

Makes sense - more economic growth more jobs available - people quoting to find better jobs.

Are they quitting their jobs and for better, higher paying, job opportunities, or are they exiting the workforce for an extended period of time, or even permanently?

I'm not kidding myself that these questions will get answered.

This was obviously posted by a low-information voter who doesn't read, or think, past the headline.

Florida currently accounts for nearly half of the nations new jobs.

Why can’t you say right leaning instead of bringing up Trump every other post?

I quit reading at the point where it said "results suggest", you know anything that follows after that is a bunch of BS.

It's an easily verifiable statistic it's not an opinion it's not theoretical it either is or it is not.
