Tom Brady Is the Left’s Worst Nightmare - LewRockwell

An interesting perspective from Dex Bahr. I think he makes many good points, some of which I share as a Dolphin Fan.

Brady is the man, and for having the courage to not wear a mask during any of the Super Bowl proceedings, I nominate him for Man of The Year.

Truly, in this time of universal deception, he committed the radical act and gave them all something to whine about.

How long before the left demonizes Dex as an "uncle tom". The narrative the left wanted is stupid. Instead of best person, best athlete, their narrative is rig it for the minority just because. When democrats and progressives count the word exceptionalism as a racist smear, it pretty much tells you who the racists are.

Really? The perspective I got was that he absolutely hated Brady until he learned about his support for Trump and only then did a miraculous turnaround. I have absolutely zero doubt that if Brady didn't support Trump (or that fact wasn't public), Bahr would still hold his irrational hatred. A normal person can recognise sporting achievements regardless of race or politics.

Many humans are not able to walk back their hatred of individuals. Once they ride that hatred train, they are unable to get off.

Mr. Bahr WAS able to examine his conscience and admit to himself he had been wrong in his earlier opinions.

THAT is what makes his piece interesting.

I don't think he "examined his conscience" though. I think he saw Brady supporting Trump and so decided to change his approach to the man. He pretty much admitted as much (even if he didn't realise himself).

If you don't mind Joe, I will place more value in the author's own words than in your biased interpretation of his words.

Odd that Bahr believes Brady was vocal about "his support of Trump" in regards to his endorsing Trump given he was never vocal about it at all. In fact he did his best to avoid answering questions about Trump.

Brady did his best to downplay endorsing Trump in a radio interview with WEEI on Tuesday, per Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com:
"Donald is a good friend of mine. I have known him for a long time. I support all my friends. That is what I have to say. He's a good friend of mine. He's always been so supportive of me—for the last 15 years, since I judged a beauty pageant for him, which was one of the very first things that I did that thought was really cool. That came along with winning the Super Bowl. He's always invited me to play golf. I've always enjoyed his company."

"Trump also reached out to Brady, who declined to speak at the convention because he wasn't going to do "anything political." He explained that Trump's presidential campaign changed everything and made him "uncomfortable."

"He would call me after games, 'I watched your game Tom, let's play golf together.' So 2003, 2004, that's kind of the way it was," Brady said of his friendship with Trump. "He would golf, and then he became someone that — he would come up to our games and stand on the sideline. He would cheer for the Patriots. He always had a way of connecting with people, and still does.

"But the whole political aspect came, and I think I got brought into a lot of those things because it was so polarizing around the election time. It was uncomfortable for me. You can't undo things — not that I would undo a friendship — but the political support is totally different than the support of a friend.

Regarding his support for Trump, maybe Brady was trying to keep intact what little privacy he might find in the public eye? Maybe he didn't really want to be blatantly political, maybe he wanted to keep his politics relatively private?

You missed the point. The author claimed Brady was vocal about "his support of Trump". The author is wrong. End of story.

Thank God he didn't describe him as being enthusiastic about his support of Trump.
