If you didn't get a chance to read the short analyses above, today, November 6th, 2020, the USA will go into the 8-digit zone and end the day with 10,000,000 confirmed C19 cases. Within the USA, on the very same day, the state of Texas will be the first state to enter the 7-digit zone and will end the day with 1,000,000 confirmed C19 cases.

The USA is now AVERAGING +100,000 cases per day. That means that if that average holds, the USA will jump 3 million cases PER MONTH, putting the USA at 20,000,000 cases by February.

I bet that down deep, none of us really thought that it would come this far.

Contrary to what President Trump so blatantly lied about, COVID-19 is not going away and it is still being reported.

    TEXAS-WATCH:

Were Texas an independent country, it would currently be #10 in the worldwide rankings, between Colombia and Mexico.

In Europe, things are getting decidedly worse. Yesterday, France posted +58,000 new C19 cases, rank 2 behind the USA.

Today, Poland has already posted +27,000 fresh infections, Russia +20,000 (Russia just hit +20,000 for the first time), Belgium +11,000 and Romania +10,000. And most of the really big nations in Western Europe have not even reported in (Germany, France, Spain, Italy, UK). Today is very likely to be the worst +infection day thus far in European C19 history. The care-flights between Belgium and the cities of Aachen and Trier in Germany are not letting up. Belgium has essentially hissed the white flag already.

A new mutation of C19 has been discovered among minks in Denmark, which is now planning to kill all minks in that country. The entire region of Jütland has therefore been hermetically sealed-off. Reports are now coming out that this mutation has now jumped from minks to humans. I will be reporting more on this later this evening (my time).

Already, 1,700 people have died from COVID-19 in Europe today, and the day is for all intents and purposes just beginning. It's going to be a horrible day on this side of the Atlantic.

It could be a mistake killing those minks (ignoring the fact that they were due to be killed for their fur anyway - a disgusting industry). What has not been reported is if this new strain is as dangerous as the current strain. This strain could be the equivalent of smallpox/cowpox which led to the eradication of smallpox

I understand that but it would be helpful to know of the condition of the 12 people who caught the new strain and then whether the antibodies they developed against the new strain has any effect on the old strain. The cowpox antibody led to the smallpox vaccine. The article states that the new strain appears to be less sensitive to antibodies but this is the same with cowpox; the smallpox vaccine deliberately infects the human with cowpox, a mild disease, to which the body develops antibodies which also had the effect of attacking the smallpox virus. I guess that the 12 are being closely monitored to see if this effect is occurring

I appreciate that you said that in the post I was replying to. It just seemed to me that they perceived how the virus was operating to be a danger to us rather than a potential vaccination and that is not just because of its affect on antibodies but because "Danish prime minister Mette Frederiksen described the threat from the mutated virus as “very, very serious” with potentially “devastating consequences worldwide.” I was assuming he was saying that on information he had.

Just to show how badly things are going in Europe, take a look for yourself:

    2020-11-006 COVID-19 Europe 003 - daily cases 001.png
    2020-11-006 COVID-19 Europe 003 - daily cases 002.png

Of the record setting 57 nations across the world that reported +1,000 or more C19 cases, 28 of them were in Europe.
Out of that group, of the 14 nations across the world that reported +10,000 or more C19 cases, 10 of them were in Europe.
Of the +634,469 fresh infections recorded across the world on 2020-11-006, 317,392 of them (50.02%) of them were recorded in Europe.
Do not draw any conclusions from Sweden's statistic - that nation is very, very inconsistent when it comes to daily C19 reporting.

Europe is now the epicenter of the worldwide pandemic.

But the United States, as an individual nation, is getting hammered even worse.

And I thought it would all end, vanish into hot air on the 4th of November.
    Sadly it did not happen.
25 more cases in 3 days in my county, which makes it per capita one of the hot spots in Colorado.
People ignore it, city government ignores it, county government ignores it.
    Its insane.
Have 1 employee in isolation, again. Teenage son might have been exposed in school.
    Both got tested, results Tuesday.
We still have fights with customers over the fricking Schnutten Pulli, Kisser Sock..
    The stupidity gets tiring
I have the lights in the heating ducts installed and the Crane air purifiers are running. Thats about all I can do to keep the virus load as low as possible in the air. Cleaning, well we are world champions in that. My Laundry has always been spotless, we just changed cleaners.
Cost a little bit more, but, oh well.
The school district made a very smart decision. From Turkey day till Jan 11th the schools will be closed. They might be forced to close earlier if the cases keep exploding in the county and continues to get into the schools.

I am honestly worried, because Winter is coming and people still do not get it.

Stay healthy my friends and do not dare to slack, or you will pay for it.

As indicated a while back: I am now only releasing barebones data for the worldwide figures and the top 11 nations (all over 900,000 cases) throughout the week (Monday through Saturday) and will publish a large set of End of Week (EOW) reports for the Sunday of each week. You can then interpret the tables and screenshots for yourselves as you wish.

This will be the new daily format apart from EOW (End of Week) / EOM / EOY analyses and it saves me a LOT of time. Wishing you all good health.

COVID-19 worldwide statistical analysis for the week of 2020-11-001 through 2020-11-008
    (GMT +0 - Greenwich = 20:00 EDT):

    ֍֍֍֍֍ 50,723,000 ֍֍֍֍֍
A record-shattering +3,918,386 cases over the Sunday before (was +3,478,798 one week earlier).
THE WORLD WENT OVER 47,48,49 & 50 MILLION TOTAL CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES ALL IN 1 WEEK

    TOTAL C19 cases: 167 nations with 1,000+, 112 with 10,000+, 82 with 50,000+, 55 with 100,000+,
    9 with 1,000,000+, 1 with 10,000,000+

There have now been 1,261,747 COVID-19 deaths worldwide, +56,703 of them occured in this week (+46,127 the week before).
    ---------------------------------------------------------

Worldwide WEEKLY rolling averages: record-shattering +559,769 new C19 cases per day / +8,100 deaths per day

For the +deaths for the top nations, see new table (under the rubrik worktable)
The number of serious/critical (ICU) cases worldwide: 92,573 (+7,330 over the week before)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    STAT'S EXCEL-TABLE:

It was a huge newsweek on the COVID-19 front...foremost that the world hit the 50-million total case mark and the USA hit the 10-million case mark.

Also, the world went over +500,000 cases for 6 of the last 7 days and over +600,000 on 2 of those 6.

And the huge explosion of cases in Europe, above all others, in France, cannot go unnoticed.

If you compare the weekly average of this week before to the preceeding week, you will see that the average +daily cases rose considerably (+559,769 vs +496,971 the week before, a significant jump) and the average daily deaths also rose (+6,590 the week before to +8,100 now). That translates to 388 C19 infections and 5.6 deaths PER MINUTE, EVERY MINUTE.

There can be no doubt about it: the 2nd major wave for the entire world is now here and we are all in the thick of it.

By clicking on the hyperlink (in the title), you can learn to interpret the worksheet. You can see that for the entire week, there were 19 nation-rubrik changes, 1 less than the week before, you can note them for yourselves.

The way the rubrik table is presented, you can easily (and mathematically) see how the week has developed until its end.

In terms of +cases and +deaths over the week, per country:

So, after a lot of thought, I realized that publishing the +cases and +deaths just for Sunday within the weekly EOW report is silliness, so I have concentrated myself on the top nations that have I have been tracking and made a handy table that will be updated once per week:

I did not do the math by hand, but rather, per input in the excel table. It's the same table four times over in this screenshot, just sorted four ways. In the upper left, it's sorted by +cases (the week from 2020-11-001 through 2020-11-008 ) over the previous week. In column B can see that the world had +3,918,386 cases over the week before. In column C, it's +3,478,798 for the week before over 2 weeks ago. If you look to the upper right, where I highlighted "+cases diff:", that's the difference in the value from this last week over the value from the week before. So, the world added 439,588 more +cases this last week than it did in the week before.

At the bottom left, it's the same story, only sorted by +deaths (meaning, weekly deaths). You can see that France is rank 2 among the nations, with +4,020 deaths over the week before. The week before that, it was +2,258 deaths, so if you look to the extreme right where I have highlighted "+deaths diff:", you will see that France suffered +1,511 more weekly deaths than the week before, 2nd place in the death misery, behind the USA.

In the differences values, a negative value is a good thing, it means there were either less +cases or less +deaths (meaning, weekly, not daily) than in the week previous.

Total cases per country, descending (this time, countries with circa +1,000 C19 cases and above):

    2020-11-008 COVID-19 Worldwide 003 - total cases.png
    2020-11-008 COVID-19 Worldwide 004 - total cases.png
    2020-11-008 COVID-19 Worldwide 005 - total cases.png

India is not going to be catching up to the USA in total C19 cases anytime soon. In India, the wave is verifiably receding, whilst in the USA, it is raging. For me personally, it is very jarring to see the USA in the 9-digit zone. And worse yet, it will not be the only nation to achieve this statistic.
In terms of total deaths per country, descending:
    2020-11-008 COVID-19 Worldwide 006 - total deaths.png

    The top 4:

USA, total deaths: 243,763 / 19.32% of worldwide deaths (19.62% on the Sunday before). The USA is currently expected to hit 250,000 deaths Mid-November, 2020.

Brazil, total deaths: 162,397 / 12.87% of worldwide deaths (13.31% on the Sunday before). Extrapolated 200,000 death date, based on the daily average of 657 deaths per day, from 2020-10-014 = New Years Day 2021.

India, total deaths: 126,653 / 10.04% of worldwide deaths (10.18% on the Sunday before). India will likely go over 200,000 C19 deaths around January 12, 2021.

Mexico, total deaths: 94,808 / 7.51% of worldwide deaths (7.61% on the Sunday before). No extrapolation for 100,000 deaths quite yet.

Combined (627,626), the top four nations currently represent 49.74% of all total deaths in the world to-date (was 51.70% the week before).

In terms of Total Tests administered per country:

    2020-11-008 COVID-19 Worldwide 010 - total tests.png
    2020-11-008 COVID-19 Worldwide 011 - total tests.png

    66
nations have now administered more than 1 million tests apiece, with Lithuania and Hungary having crossed the 1,000,000 during this last week; of those 66, 12 nations have performed more than 10 million apiece. Of those 12, 3 have performed more than 100 million apiece.

END-FACIT: Logistical case growth, not exponential, but still, we are accumulating a huge number of C19 cases per day.

The USA has now officially recorded 243,768 total COVID-19 deaths, +7,297 of those deaths were recorded during this week.
***On Election Day, the US surpassed the 237,500 deaths I extrapolated 3 months ago for Election Day***

USA WEEKLY rolling average = 116,367 new infections & 1042 deaths per day.
18,462 C19 cases in the USA are listed in critical care (+1,257 over the week before).
TOTAL PERFORMED C19 tests: 157.6 million, 35 states have now performed over 1 million tests apiece.

President-Elect Joe Biden is assembling a 12-head COVID-19 task force today, 2020-11-009, to lay out a new plan
    Today is also my birthday.

    STAT'S EXCEL-TABLE:

The USA is getting hammered by what for the world is the 2nd wave, but may simply be the 3rd loop of the 1st wave in the USA, since we never really tamped-down on the virus the first time.

The current 7-day rolling averages calculate to = 81 new infections and 0.7 deaths per MINUTE. EVERY MINUTE. NON-STOP.

The infection rate and the rate of ICU bed use is obviously going in the wrong direction.

Worst yet, the average daily deaths has now exceeded where my extrapolation (see: bottom of analysis) pegged it to be 3 months ago . Remember, deaths are a lagging indicator, so the skyrocketing number of daily cases can only mean considerably more daily deaths starting about the 3rd week of November, 2020.

By clicking on the hyperlink (directly above this screenshot), you can learn to interpret the worksheet. For the entire week, there were 6 unit / rubrik changes: Kentucky, Colorado, Nevada, Kansas New Mexico and Massachusetts.

TEXAS led in +cases the first four days of this week, while ILLINOIS lead the last 3 days. On Saturday, 4 of the 5 top states were all neighboring states from the upper Midwest.

The way the rubrik table is presented, you can easily (and mathematically) see how the week has developed until its end.

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, new daily cases and new daily deaths:
So, after a lot of thought, I realized that publishing the +cases and +deaths just for Sunday within the weekly EOW report is silliness, so I have concentrated myself on the top nations that have I have been tracking and made a handy table that will be updated once per week, you can see the USA at the top:

Perhaps, in the fullness of time, I may also make such a table only for the top states in the USA, but that is a huge amount of work. Wait and see.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FACIT: we ended the 7-day period analysed with 243,763 total US deaths from COVID-19.

    2020-11-008 COVID-19 USA - population data for extrapolation.png

This means that we have currently lost the equivalent of slightly more than entire the population of LOUISVILLE (KY), never to get it back again.

As of 2020-08-001, I adjusted the extrapolation upward from an estimated average +700 deaths per day (from 2020-06-001 through 2020-07-031) to an estimated average of +850 deaths per day in the USA. Here the current projected milestones:

2020-09-020: 200,000 deaths (the old extrapolation projected: 2020-10-013). 200,000 deaths were reached 5 days before, on 2020-09-015.
    2020-11-003 (Election Day): 237,500 deaths
    2020-11-018: 250,000 deaths
    (the old extrapolation projected: 2020-12-023).
2020-12-031: 286,697 deaths on New Years Eve, 2020 going into 2021.

    At current:

    2020-11-008 COVID-19 USA 006 - extrapolation.png
This means that we are currently at +2,071 deaths over the extrapolation (one week ago, it was: +724), which puts us also currently 2.4 days ahead of the next milestone-projections. The USA's current daily death average = +1,042 (one week ago, it was +852) which means that we are starting to accelerate over the extrapolation.

I know it may be tiring to see these statistics all the time, but I do think it's important to follow the data-path every day and to put it in print, for posterity's sake, so that the naysayers cannot say "nay" without looking totally ignorant.

    NEW CONCLUSION: mitigate!

    PERMANENT DISCLAIMER UPDATE, 2020-11-009:

Things change with time, and so must I with them. I am combining three old postings into one to make this all more concise concerning my reporting of COVID-19 statistics. What started as a general summary of the entire world in March and April 2020 became intense daily worldwide analyses as of the beginning of May and then came very concise daily USA analyses added to them and then, as more and more nations suddenly climbed over the 1,000,000 case mark, I added daily screenshots of all these "younger" nations, but it has now become apparent to me that I need to change my method of reporting stuff, otherwise I'll need to spend four hours a day simply typing stuff for PF and I don't have those four hours.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you want to see the analysis for any day I have analyzed, then go to my sig-file, open the excel table, go to the tab that you want and click on the date you want. My sig-file is going to be here for a long, long time, but when the time comes that it is gone, then feel free to click HERE.

The excel table now covers the worldwide statistics and (currently) 13 other nations, most of which have already gone over the 1,000,000-mark.

Rolling averages (daily cases / daily deaths): a 7-day rolling average system in effect as 2020-06-029. Also, the positivity rate (number of cases / number of performed tests, depicted as a percentage) has been added to the data.

Confirming/sorting the data for this analysis as you wish: go here: WORLDOMETER for today -or- here: WAYBACK MACHINE when searching for today's date in the future: search for one or two days later than you want, then use the "yesterday" or "2 days ago" function at the top their large excel table.

Value discrepancies: sometimes there are discrepancies in the +-values (new cases, new deaths) between my excel table and WorldOMeter. This is always and without exception because WorldOMeter changed totals out of the past, usually from one or two days before, after I wrote the analysis. This is happening more often as countries are revising figures more often. Either way, I stick with the + values on my excel table as they are the correct reflection of the numbers as I recorded them. I simply do not have time to be constantly hunting numerical "ghosts" out of the past. If the discrepancy is extreme, I will note it briefly.

Pertinent only to the USA: that country is analyzed in 57 Units instead of 50 states.

Pertinent to the online excel-document itself, there are some interesting tabs apart from the individual country statistics, at the beginning and at the end of the tab-list:

    2020-11-009 COVID-19 rubrik worktable screenshot.png

    2020-11-009 COVID-19 online table 002.png

If you have been reading the large analyses in the last months, then you already know the rubrik worktables for the worldwide figures and the USA, which saves on a huge amount of excess text. That first rubrik-worktable got so large that I ended that version at the end of October and moved it to the very last tab in the online-excel document. The newer rubrik-worktable therefore has the number 002 and I did indeed add some categories.

The "USA logistical June-Dec 2020" tab near the end is the death total extrapolation I have running since the beginning of June. The "exponential calculations" were for the very small nations I studied for a while in the lower upperdecks series. And I have started a historical timeline of COVID-19 events, which I will be fleshing out more and more with time.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, moving forward from here, starting for the data for Monday, 2020-11-009, I will be publishing only one report for each weekday and no longer screenshotting the excel tables for all nations near or over the 1,000,000 mark. Instead, I will be doing a quick analysis Mondays through Fridays for the Worldwide figures and the top nations, circa 2 million C19 cases or above. Right now, that would be: Worldwide, USA, India, Brazil, France and Russia. That list will surely grow, but I will likely not go over 10 top nations during the week. The rubrik-worktable will no longer be screenshotted in the weekday mini-analyses, but rather, only for the EOW, EOM and EOY reports.

Then, for each Sunday report I will be doing screenshots for all countries in my excel-tracking, as you saw today HERE and HERE. And the EOW reports for the worldwide data and the USA data will be very intensive, as you also saw today, HERE and HERE.

So, during the week, my reporting is going to be more streamlined, but the End of Week (EOW), End of Month (EOM) and soon, the EOY (End of Year) reports will be very exhaustive.

Stay healthy, stay well. Give COVID-19 no chance to infect you.

    Best to all of you,

    Stat
