Transgender woman arrested for voyeurism in Target changing room

"A transgender woman in Idaho was arrested on Tuesday and accused of taking pictures of a woman trying on clothes in a Target changing room.Police responded to a call on Monday from a woman who said she noticed someone reaching over her stall and taking pictures while she was trying on clothes, the Post Register reported. The victim confronted the perpetrator, who ran out of the store.

Authorities were able to identify the suspect after reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses.A news release issued by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect is Sean Smith, 43, who also goes by the name Shauna Patrick Smith. The suspect faces a charge of felony voyeurism, punishable by up to five years in prison.

The incident comes amid a national boycott effort aimed at Target, after the retail giant said in April it would allow customers to use the intimate facilities corresponding with their professed gender identity." - Source​

This is the incident that everyone dreaded. I hope the victim sues the hell out of Target.

 

The incident everyone knew would happen, as there were already reports of it happening before this one. Those reports were all deflected and downplayed of course by the crowd that thinks this fantasyland appeasement over science is ok. Now it has happened at target which was likely the one that many were waiting for as they had been in the news for taking this stance, so it's fitting that this one happened there of all places.

I hope they sue as well. Target knowingly ignored all common sense based concern to push a social political agenda, and should now be held accountable. They knew and pushed ahead putting their customers at risk.


Come back to reality America, it's not too late to put the brakes on this.

There's nothing common about common sense. I disagree with you on this issue, but rather than get into a long battle, just make the dividers of stalls and dressing rooms go from the floor to the ceiling. Single occupant is the way to go. That will also solve whatever problem with identity thats coming next.

 

Dreaded? This is like the third one JUST at target since Target opened their bathrooms up to predators. Whos surprised? Not me, I was the one that called this and everyone told me I was wrong.

people on this very website said we didn't need to modify bathrooms in any way, because these scenarios wouldn't happen, and homophobic republicans were over reacting... seems the republicans were correct, and the smug democrats were incorrect in this situation, but I suspect we won't hear any smug liberals saying, sorry, not to the republicans, but to those women in each event where someone has been caught taking their picture, and the who knows how many that have not been caught so far...

 

I didn't see anyone say that no bathroom modification was required; I didn't follow those threads daily but most of them were centered around children being raped. Bathrooms have always been snuck into and abused; maybe we should be focusing on the larger picture.

 

If you have a penis, your a male...if you have a vagina your a female. Lets base sexuality on what it is. The end.

 

Why not just keep the TG's out of female bathrooms? Or create that separate bathroom for the TG? Floor to ceiling makes me feel like the entire public is a federal prison

Sexual predators have been around forever. Are you trying to find leverage based on this? Seems like an unintelligent argument to me.

There will always be sexual predators. Why try to categorize them based on a tactic they use?.....Because it benefits your political standing?

Are you trying to say people can't be transgender because someone might abuse that Civil Right?
