    Merry Christmas everyone. We'll unwrap one present each on Christmas eve, to keep with some tradition from Germany, followed by the big event tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, no church tonight for us, due to the recent covid outbreak.

    So, what about a truce from partisan sniping for a day, to enjoy the spirit of Christmas?

    Well, we start a bit earlier in Australia so I'm heading over to Dad's place now for Christmas lunch. My younger sister will be there and we will Skype with my brother in London later in the afternoon.

    I have flown over that area numerous times. If Washington had gone a few miles downstream, he could have crossed on a bridge.

    I will try to avoid partisan sniping, but most often just arguing against a point irks people, so I dunno if I can participate without someone feeling like they've been 'sniped'...
