Well, lot's to discuss all of a sudden. I have to admit to having somewhat of a "*Securing tin foil hat*" reaction myself to vagaries like "the deep state", "the establishment", "oligarchies" and so forth, even when I use those terms myself. No, that's not where I was going, but close. As I said, it's not any one person in particular, but it is particular people. What I'm driving at is that we can identify our common enemies quite easily. Sure they wish to hide and succeed as best they can, but it's not that hard to nail them down. The will to do so is what's sorely lacking.

Consider the actual purpose of institutions like our two party system, major corporations, corporate insurance, religion, private health care conglomerates, "non-profit" trusts/foundations/organizations, prisons, the military, police,... All primarily exist and serve to protect the interests of those with the most - a rather tiny minority - not the people - from the people. It's no secret. We all know it. These people have two things, names and far too much wealth/power/influence upon the rest of us. Prior to the Great Depression the same gross separation between the haves and have littles grew to the breaking point. The nation and government survived mainly due to make work programs and more direct investments in the people instead of the elite. Like Warren Buffet, many of the disgustingly wealthy grew increasingly embarrassed and actually helped the government create a healthy middle class believing that might somehow protect them from a quick repeat. And it did. But not forever. Here we are again. Only it's just Warren Buffet and he ain't giving up a cent without a fight. So who is the enemy again? Hint: It's not just Warren Buffet.

Think back to what caused The Revolutionary War to begin with. Ridiculously unfair taxation. For the benefit of major stakeholders in the East India Trading Company.
The smugglers here were our "Founding Fathers." Mostly of the elite themselves, pissed because they were being taxed to death by the elite back in England, they eventually revolted and the rest is history. Unquenchable greed is our common weakness. Government largely exists to stop us from hurting each other too much due to our human frailties. But the reverse happens when some grab so much that the government basically begins serving only their interests at the expense of everyone else.

Major corporations exist mainly to shield the disgustingly wealthy from all liability for the damage they know damned well they do to the rest of us daily.

Ok, so you're searching/asking/exploring. That could be a basis for a pretty good conversation. Go ahead and articulate a bit of what you want to know more about to start a discussion.

You already responded and have exposed yourself as being on the higher income side of this class war you are trying to sell. No further clarification is needed. Thank you.

Ha, I just did. Gave it away, actually. I seriously doubt useful discussion will follow. But, never say never. Chin up, chest out, march on!

Well, if you could read his previous post, he said his family all made a living working union jobs. If strong unions are not in the interest of people directly compensated by union jobs, I don't know what is in someone interests. Try reading and thinking before replying next time.

Oh lordy the terror of a living wage! We should all be happy to suck at the teet of the 1% like right wingers in the vain hope something will trickle down on our ignorant heads!

Are you trying to be ironic here, because I doubt anyone could say that with a straight face. The right has made their money tricking stupid low income people into propping up rich people so they specifically do not have to share their wealth for the good of many. Almost every conservative principle is aimed at the good of the few, not the many.

Obviously, many low-information that voted for Trump (in the swing states) voted against their interests,

Trump's voters didn't think through the implications of electing an UNPREPARED IMBECILE to the office of POTUS.

Maybe they will learn in time to vote this MORON out in 2020.

Btw--Long Time, no see. Welcome Back. :salute:

Yeah I had a vacation for calling idiots, idiots. It happens. When the average, dim witted trump voter gets directly screwed by one of his policies that might wake them up. Although, it took an awful lot of intellectual dishonesty and outright ignorance to vote for him in the first place, so perhaps not.

The USA is paying dearly for facilitating the election of an UNPREPARED IMBECILE with the support of less than 27% of eligible voters.

Again the progressive socialist left demonstrates a profound lack of economic understanding. Capitalism is the economic system which has lifted more people out of poverty than any other economic system. Maximizing the rate of wealth creation maximizes the rate of increase of the standard of living which benefits the lower income quintiles much more than the upper quintiles.

You are claiming that low income people are stupid ?? Exactly how has the right tricked these people who you claim are stupid ?? And exactly which conservative principles are "aimed at the good of the few" ??

They voted for their interests. The D's have no economic plan except 8 more years of the 1% Obama economy. As Bill Clinton said "It's the economy stupid." Trump's supply side economics is the plan to benefit the rust belt. The D's have abandoned their blue collar base for a platform built on identity politics which benefits no one. That is why the D's have lost more than 1000 state and federal governance seats in the last decade.

    Andrew;

The less people know about something the more they want to argue about it.

    PRESIDENT TRUMP has:
-Taken the US out of terrible trade deals which hurt US workers
-Taken the US out of a phony climate accord that penalized US workers more
-Brought illegal immigration down 60 percent before even starting a wall along the US-Mexico border
    -Put sanctuary cities on notice
-Instituted a temporary travel ban on terror-prone failed states to make the US safer
-Appointed a Justice to the Supreme Court
-Brought the economy back. The stock market is at all-time highs
-Ramped up domestic energy production to make the US energy independent
-Ordered modernisation of US airline traffic control
-Met with business leaders from all segments of the economy to tell them they are not forgotten.
-Fired an incompetent FBI Director for becoming a tool of politics
-Brought 50 Muslim states together to ask their unified help in fighting terrorism
-Told NATO to pay its fair share
-SHOWN THE MEDIA WHAT FOOLS THEY WERE FOR PREDICTING HILLARY WOULD BE PRESIDENT
-SHOWN THE MEDIA WHAT FOOLS THEY WERE FOR PURSUING THE RUSSIAN COLLUSION HOAX

None of these things get much play in the mass hysteria (I mean media), because they don't conform to the agenda of getting even with Trump for crushing the democrats last November.

ISIS would own Baghdad without our help, Iran official says

Without Iran's help, ISIS or Al Queda, would have been in Damascus too!

When unions demand - maybe even strike for - higher pay rates, and a company decides to replace them with overseas labor, whose fault is it the union jobs are lost?

Ah yes, the catch all phrase from dishonest trump humpers so they don't have to engage in intellectual discourse. When most of the fanbase is dim witted you need phrases like that and fake news so you don't have to learn any facts or arguments. Not surprising.

Again you spew the same bullcrap talking points the right has used since brain addled reagan to justify stealing from the middle class to give the rich tax breaks. The 1% have to be grateful they have such willing puppets as yourself to make their case so they don't have to.

Low income people who vote republican are voting directly against their interests.
