Trump administration knew in May Zelensky felt pressured to investigate Bidens

    Washington(CNN)US administration officials knew as early as May 2019 that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky felt pressure from President Donald Trump's allies to conduct investigations that were politically useful to the American president.

    That's according to former Trump White House official Fiona Hill, who in recent testimony before Congress said she was told of that pressure contemporaneously by an American businessman and former Obama administration official who had met Zelensky's team on May 7.

    of course! Rudy went on TV months ago and said he was going to Ukraine on trumps behalf to gin up an investigation of the Bidens. They had already blackmailed Ukraine into stopping cooperating with mueller. They knew Ukraine was open shop for their grift because they had no choice. They were being invaded.

    The alleged "victim" say he wasn't pressured into investigating Burisma Holdings. So where is the crime? President Volodymyr Zelensky said he would investigate both Trump and Biden.

    Yes, I remember this basic story coming out from the AP about the May 7th meeting... it was discounted by the wingers because all the sources were unnamed Ukrainians in the meeting plus this Hochstein guy... I remember thinking at the time he'd be the only one you could get to confirm this... Not sure why he hasn't been deposed or subpoenaed, by EITHER side...Seems the R's might get some benefit over getting this guy, instead of submitting their mostly unrealistic witness list...

    But you'll never get any of the Ukrainians to confirm this, because they are still at war, thus still dependent on future aid from this undependable administration.

    Think again. Obama sent them Pillows and Blankets, Trump sent them anti-tank Javelin missiles. Don't worry what ever witness list submitted in the Senate without Schiff for Brains to run interference will be approved. Joe and Hunter Biden, Chris Heinz and Devon Archer will all get their talking papers. The Republicans will come to the Senate armed with depositions from Zelensky and Shokin.

    You keep repeating that, but it's not going to happen... The Prez of Ukraine will not sit for a deposition on this topic... and I'm also relatively positive that it would not generally support Trump's view of what happened here if he did...

    You said Trump was the "only one" sending the Ukrainians lethal aid. He didn't. He tried to block it, only releasing it after he thought they were going to do what he wanted, and after the whistleblower report started becoming public.

    It was Congress who authorised the aid. Not Trump.

    Did Obama block lethal aid for Ukraine that Congress had authorised?
