Nancy Reagan protected him fiercely and shielded him from the press and public finding out that he was compromised cognitively.

Reagan had good advisors that his administration respected and relied on for policy making decisions. Trump doesn't have that. In addition, people inside Trump's administration including former advisor Steve Bannon before he was ousted have publicly states that Trump has a nonexistent attention span and is cognitively deteriorating before our eyes.

Ronald Reagan managed to complete his second term only because he had enablers that covered for him, governed for him, made decisions for him and shielded him from disclosure of the fact that he was no longer mentally fit to be president. It is not true, it is a right wing myth used to confer sainthood upon a mediocre president who was nearly impeached over a very serious matter called Iran-Contra. Remember that? Well, Reagan's memory loss was a bit of convenience then he claimed to have forgotten key details about his administration’s selling of arms to Iran to fund Nicaraguan rebels. Why does anyone wonder why people from Nicaragua are trying to get out of Nicaragua? The U.S. is one of the reasons why they are because we're the ones that destabilized their country.

 

Reagan was so severely mentally incapable his second term that people around him ran the government, not Reagan.

In the movie the Hollywood left portrayed Lt. Cmdr Queeg as a nut case.

The Cain's executive officer, Lieutenant Steve Maryk failed to perform the duties as a XO.

In the movie that was produced in 1954, there were no four stackers destroyers available, they were all scrapped right after WW ll.

This is the type of destroyer that the USS Cain was suppose to be, a Clemson class destroyer.

When you are right, you are right regarding Cain Mutiny and Wouks book. However, I think what the McCarthyites did to guys like Trumbo, Dymytryk and others was way over the top.
