Trump And Schumer Fail To Reach A DACA Deal By Amber Athey 01/19/2018 President Donald Trump and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer did not reach a deal on DACA during a Friday meeting. Trump And Schumer Fail To Reach A DACA Deal “No deal was reached” in the meeting, a White House official told reporters. Schumer said that he made “progress” with the president but they were unable to reach any official deal in the “long and detailed meeting.” “We made some progress but we still have a good number of disagreements. The discussion will continue,” Schumer told reporters after leaving the meeting. Trump and Schumer met amid a looming government shutdown, as Senate Democrats have refused to vote on a continuing resolution to fund the government unless it includes protections for DACA recipients. Republicans do not currently have the 60 votes necessary to pass the resolution. Source: http://dailycaller.com/2018/01/19/t...ush&utm_source=daily_caller&utm_campaign=push ~~~~ This should be an absolute victory for the GOP. They've shown the American people that Democrats want total amnesty and are fighting for illegals aliens showing they prefer them over American citizens, children and the military. Trump opened a pathway to negotiate with Democrats on immigration. Intransigent Chuckie Schumer blew it, showing Democrats are not interested in solving the problem, but are willing to shut down this government for their own selfish reasons. Democrats will not strike any deal with Trump. None! The hypocritical Marxist Socialist Democrat cabal does not want to give this president any victory or advantage. Since his election they have steadfastly opposed every policy he stands for and consistently worked against the best interest of the American people.
~~~~ You're right, what Democrats have forgotten is that to date no Bills have been passed by Congress or the Senate regarding DACA or immigration. They've once again have put the carter before the horse.
Just for once if DACA is repealed the Government will actually be keeping families together. If the children were sent to the US on their own they can now be sent back to their parents and if the parents are still in the US illegally they can all go home together.
~~~~ Bu, bu, bu, but, that would stop Chain migration.... Think of those poor Mexican children.... BTW, I'm with you there and so are the majority of Americans who see the actions of illegal immigration pushed by the Alt-Left as a ploy.
It has nothing to do with DACA and everything to do with young voters to replace the older ones that have realized the democrat party is NOT the direction they want this country to be taken.
You've got to see this! Sen Chuck Schumer in 2013 saying the Dems would not do what they did. "It wuld be chaos" if they shut the govt down over immigration.
What happens with people who arrived in the US as a kid but who are now adults who were older than 30 on June 15, 2012 and are now 31-100 years of age? Are these people subject to deportation?
~~~~ Simple, they get deported back to the country of their origin. If they came illegally before 2009 and were above the age of 17 they we no longer children and don't fall under DACA...
I have been posting in chat forums since GWB's 'reign', and I have to say that the posts that defend this President are - almost entirely - the most poorly researched, least coherent and most ignorant posts...by far. I may have heard more compelling and logical arguments that have emanated from the digestive system of a cow then most of the ones Trumpbots seem to make. This one is fairly typical. Laced with nonsensical gobbledegook...and INCREDIBLY short on logic or evidence. Just biased vitriol based on incredibly crude and dated assumptions.
~~~~ Hey Cobber Wakey, Wakey..... We're all children of our mother. Seventeen is considered the age of consent therefore they are no longer children but adults.
I think you may have misunderstood me. I might be mistaken, but DACA doesn't take into account the number of years that someone has been living in the US for. Doesn't this mean that someone who arrived in the US as a kid but who are now adults who were older than 30 on June 15, 2012 and are now 36-100 years of age will be subject to deportation?
First off DACA is an unconstitutional Executive Order signed by Barack Obama who is no longer president and can be overridden by Trump by simply signing another Executive Order rescinding Obama's. Trump would rather have our Congress write new regulations reforming the rules of Immigration into these United States of America and complete building the that Bush began and Obama stopped. This will slow the influx of illegal aliens and the smuggling of drugs into the US. The "Wall" would include UAV's and other technologies to detect those crossing the border. You should watch "Border Wars" sometime. Did you know that Obama also wanted to sign another Exec.Ord. named the "Deferred Action for Parents". Obama's bridge to far that was stopped by the courts. See: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parents (DAPA) https://www.ice.gov/daca 2015 Update: On February 16, 2015, a federal district court temporarily enjoined the government from proceeding forward on the former Secretary's policy of DAPA and expanded DACA. The injunction does not affect the existing 2012 DACA initiative. On November 20, 2014, former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson issued new policies which allow certain aliens who arrived in the United States on or before January 1, 2010 to apply for deferred action, a form of prosecutorial discretion under which aliens are not removed from the United States and that authorizes them to seek permission to work lawfully in the United States. The former Secretary’s policies apply to certain individuals who came to the United States as children under the age of 16 of who are parents of U.S. citizens or lawful permanent resident children.
Yes, I fully understand that. However, my point is that certain people who arrived as children don't appear to quality for DACA - those who were older than 30 in 2012. Yes I did know that stupidity.
Thats a good way to show readers that you yourself haven't researched topic. You provide no evidence or logic to why they are wrong.
