"Many", apparently, is 5%. It must be liberal math?

Completely irrelevant. But hey, I bet he's one of those awful rich guys who was hit by the loss of his SALT deductions!

State property taxes over $10,000 (cap) are no longer federally deductible. You have to either have multiple properties or one might big house to pay that much.

no one should be paying more taxes with a middle class tax plan where the corp tax rate went down almost 15%.... why did not the taxes of the working class go down the same?

Fail, as I knew you would.

Your link doesn't say anything about "5% of the middle class." This isn't about the middle class. The rich are paying more. I thought you guys loved that?

So the tax cuts means 95.2% of the middle class are paying less and you think that means it's the middle class that got screwed by the tax rate cuts. You would prefer the 95.2% pay more this year and the 4.8% pay the same? THAT would be the better tax situation? What is it about that 4.8% that means the 95.2% should not get a tax cut?

Why should they be the same? The middle class pays about a 14% tax rate, why not corporations paying the same then?

Then why did they get a rate cut, a doubling of the standard deduction which 98% of them file, and a doubling of the child tax credit which is a refundable credit that you get whether you paid any taxes at all. How was all that not a benefit?

No it wasn't, it was supposed to be an across the board tax rate cuts and simplification. And it was. And not only did it exempt even more people at the bottom from paying and federal tax and increased the refundable child tax credit meaning they will be getting even MORE money from that.

We have told you over and over if you make 125k have to dependents like you said and your income went up 3% like you said then it's not possible unless your losing some massive write-off. Did you go from home ownership to renting? Did you lose 50,000 business miles on your care? It has to be something major to offset the doubling of the dependent credit you received. No your taxes coming out of your paycheck could've been dramatically lowered creating less refund but you said your tax liability went up therefore you had to loss a serious deduction that your account should have warned you about last year.

I'll give you a little republican advise, learn the tax code better it's fairly simple to understand the basics. Fire your accountant tomorrow because he/she sucks. Never ever post in a tax thread again until you do the first two things.

Why should the rest of the country subsidize state with outrageous real estate taxes, they get no benefit at all.

Because there is MORE than one type of PAC. ActBlue is a NON-PROFIT that ONLY accepts donations from INDIVIDUALS. There is no conservative equivalent.

According to actual economists, even though we got a lot less in refunds, we also got less deducted from our paychecks to begin with. The vast majority of the middle class did get a small tax cut overall with about 8-10% who got a tax increase. However, the wealthy did get the best deal here.

In Blue states they can no longer deduct state property taxes over $10,000 (cap) a year. Some rich guy like Al Bore with a huge seaside mansion, can no longer stick his HUGE state real ESTATE taxes on the rest of the country.
