Trump Calls Allies to Demand Gen. Mark Milley Be ‘Arrested’ for ‘Treason’

The Dutch were great explorers and traders, but its commercial success was principally due to its ship-building expertise and the government grant given to the Dutch East India Company, which led to the foundation of the world's first stock exchange. They did well in the 17th century, but were involved in three major trade wars in the 18th century, losing their North American foothold in New York (known as New Amsterdam?). I would suppose that mercantilism competition from the other much larger and rising nation-states eventually defeated them, other than in SE Asia, where they hung on in Indonesia until WW II.

I think mercantilism is definitely associated with state oversight (and varying degrees of control) of the national economy. It was a feature of the nation-state, probably replaced by international finance and globalism.

I guess you could look at the U.S. military-industrial complex as a form of mercantilism.

 

As if rage is exclusively a "white" trait, therefore it is racist to add a negative to a group of people that he views in a monolithic sense. Not my general.

Milley never said that. He never said all whites suffer from white rage. He never said any whites suffer from white rage. He didn't say rage was exclusive to whites. He said he wants to understand the phenomenon. And not yet understanding this, he had no basis for making those inferred claims in the first place, so your inferences seem to miss the mark.

 

That’s not what the report says. It doesn’t say he asked them to swear an oath to carry out his personal orders.

He asked them to confirm that they would follow existing procedures. Not something he made up, but something that was already in place. And reminded them that he was part of those procedures.

And he didn’t tell the Chinese he was in control.

Hint for the future: making stuff up is not an effective form of debate.

 

Milley also said that the BLM riots were Cracker Jack riots and no one was hurt in them. A claim which is not only demonstrably false but shows his complete and obvious IMMENSE level of political bias.

 

Uhh no sir. Milley told China that he would warn them of any incoming attacks. If we are attacking someone and our general gives them advanced warning.

That is treason. Simply suggesting he would do so is treason.

 

By saying that then you advocate this as the norm for the future..

Generals and officials watching our current president... a senile puppet of a man ....destroying the trust of our allies and leading our country to ruin and danger can now take control. By your flippant statement you advocate that Generals and officials work behind the back of our president.

Rule of law has a purpose.

 

He said he would not engage in a surprise attack and would tell them first. That would mean he's in control.
He also reassured them he would not allow thing to occur. When you allow or don't allow things, you are in control.

Seriously Stat. This isn't partisanship, I'm not a Trump voter.
We have civilian control of the military. Officers are encouraged and required to disobey illegal orders when given, they are not allowed to act proactively against something they THINK MIGHT be given at some point. Disobeying an illegal order at point of it being given is perfectly legal, and upholding one's oath. Acting before an illegal order is given to subvert the retaliatory strike capability of the nation is ****ing seditious conspiracy.

Seriously, do you have the exact WORD FOR WORD transcript of the phone call? Because if you don't, all you are doing is speculating.

 

I'm going based on the report, like we all are. As other evidence comes out, I will alter my opinion as necessary.

Its an overseas phonecall between 2 generals. I'm sure there is a transcript. Let's have congress call the man on to the carpet and examine him and the transcript.

If its more or less as reported, he can take a court martial directly up his ass. If this is all apparently bullshit, Mr. Woodward can take a defamation suit directly up his ass.
But someone is catching the litigation stick and as a lawyer that makes me tumescent. Engorged, even.
