Well, there's a bit more to it than that. Gonna haveta play Devil's Advocate here, since I am a firm believer that someone should take Trump's cell phone away and change the password to Pi to the last decimal. Nevertheless, I DO have several Trump supporters in my family - well, I have all kinds in my family, but let's stay on-topic here - and I can tell you what they actually feel. Which I suspect you can't as I kind of doubt you personally know any.

Part - and I say PART - of Trump's appeal is that he's willing to speak the same language that others have used against their political opponents in the past - and c'mon, there was gallons of it poured upon Trump before he'd even decided to run. Whereas you had scads of people calling themselves politically incorrect but really not, Trump actually IS that. In simplest terms, Trump has no filter and is pretty honest about how he feels. That's - even I would admit actually kind of refreshing coming from a politician.

I mean, just look at the OP: "You want to talk about mental illness. The POS in the WH has to be one of the sick, depraved human beings alive. That is assuming that he is actually a human being....." Ok, granted that's an anonymous poster on a public forum, but there's people out there in the press, celebrities, and suchlike saying far worse about him with a much bigger soapbox - Kathy Griffin comes to mind. And the appeal to these Trump supporters is that there's someone out there willing to say what he feels without being genteel about it. He actually fights back on their level, as opposed to, I dunno, being a bit more mature about it. But then again, acting mature to critics who themselves are many times being babies themselves doesn't seem to work. These critics seem flummoxed that someone is fighting back on their level and is not accepting being a target.

Ultimately - and this is MY take, not those of some of my relatives - the problem with people who ARE anti-Trump is that ultimately they don't try to understand what really IS driving the Trump Train - they just mock it. And that's fine, but I've said elsewhere that the only way you can beat an opponent is to try to understand him. And Trump can be dismantled, but not the way the LW is doing so now - they're just playing right into his hands. Maybe no one on the left has read Sun Tzu, I dunno.

No "prodigy" skills needed at all.

I literally copy one of your previous posts, change the name, then post. [IMG]

Once I realized your posts follow a simple template, I figured if that's the level you want to communicate at, that's the level you want to receive. And if you're happy with that, then I'm happy for you.

Interesting post. You and I will certainly have to disagree on whether or not Trump's style is refreshing. There is nothing to me refreshing about this rich kid city boy country folk hero.

Oh, I'm totally fine with people disagreeing with me on that.

I mean, I mentioned how my family goes all around the dial when it comes to politics. We've gotcher hard-core Independents, rock-solid Liberals, dedicated Conservatives, and an Anarchist. And there's crossover in all those groups - well, maybe not with the lone Anarchist - about how effective Trump is, or isn't, and it varies from topic to topic. I've found - and maybe this is because I'm a teacher, maychance - that the best way to learn is by listening to what others are saying. So yeah - I know what Trump's base is, and I know what the LW thinks.

It's why I laugh when you have posters here saying that Trump's base thinks he's the messiah - I can guarantee you that they live in a bubble; they don't really KNOW any Trump supporters. They know OF them by - I dunno, watching SNL. It's pretty easy to find out what supporters actually think by talking to them face-to-face instead of looking down UPON them. And it's the same thing for - well, I guess Biden supporters once the LW contingent of my family begins to do that, as most of them were Bernie or Warren supporters.

Guess I have to explain that:

Absolutely he is. I mean, you yourself have stated that no posts here will change one vote. Fair enough. The problem is all the Independents out there. And while they see Trump and his - well, let's be kind and call them insane tweets, what they also see is the LW having a complete meltdown over Trump. What they see are complete OVERreactions to what Trump is saying. They see the press destroying their credibility trying to take down Trump and it isn't flying as believability in the Legacy Media keeps dropping. And the Independents aren't fooled - and those are the ones the LW has to convince.

Better start applying it then. Heck, even Lincoln knew better than the LW does now: How do you defeat an enemy? Make him your friend. And how is the LW trying to defeat Trump? By antagonizing his base? By showing Independents how mean they are? Really? THAT'S the LW winning strategy?

I mean, I've said this before: Trump can easily be beaten. I think Biden can beat Trump. Dunno if he WILL, but he CAN. I think the odds are more likely that Trump will beat Trump, but whatevs. Still, the LW base is so strung up on "Hate Orange Man," they'll never get it, never take the time to understand a rational way to change the equation. And in order to do that, they need to actually talk TO Trump supporters AND those on the fence. They need to understand the enemy instead of demonizing it. But they're not gonna. The LW is so caught up in "Orange Man Bad" that they're not thinking rationally in this regard. And that's exactly how they're playing into Trump's hands. Trump doesn't play their game, Trump has them playing his. No one ever expected Trump to have terribly high standards (so far as I know). But see how the LW, how the press, how celebrities have gone even lower in comparison. You're into wrestling, so you ought to get this analogy: Jim Cornette said in an interview years ago: "Ole Anderson told me one time, this was one of the greatest things anybody ever told me, he said, 'Cornette, at one time, I thought you were a dumb ****. But so many other dumb ****s have come along who are worse than you that it's moved you up the ladder without you doing anything.'" Now think of Trump as Jim Cornette (which Jim would absolutely hate) and those other dumb ****'s as the LW. Trump has moved up the ladder without even trying.

Trump calls the Washington governor a snake. What's the response? Worse than what Trump has said. If that's not playing right into Trump's hands, I dunno what is. Your argument is that Trump isn't smart enough to come up with that strategy - but you don't HAVE to be smart, you just have to be cunning. Especially in politics. If intelligence was as big a factor in political success as you think it is, then Jimmy Carter would have been the most successful president ever. Turns out he was the least. And I know plenty of kids that can barely read and yet - mostly thru social media - have as much control over what happens at school as the admins do. Your belief in Trump's (lack of) intelligence again plays into Trump's hands. I dunno if you've ever read "Pudd'nhead Wilson" by Twain, but maybe you should. You underestimate him, you call him stupid because he doesn't conform to what YOU think he should be. You don't understand - and by "you" I mean the LW - and because you prefer to sling mud instead of trying to understand that you can't beat an ideology that you can't objectively quantify. You can't come up with a good offense unless you understand the nature OF the people you oppose - and slinging insults at the opposition isn't a good strategy when it comes to winning hearts and minds and ultimately votes. I think the RW understood Hilla far better than the LW understood Trump. And hell, I'm an independent. I quit the GOP after the Patriot Act because that was absolutely the last thing a Conservative should have wanted. But no way would I ever join the Dems because the LW almost daily tries to look worse than the GOP ever could.

The LW will never be able to defeat Trump if all they have is what I'm seeing from you. Insults instead of strategy. Invectives instead of understanding his base to see what makes them tick. Cheap shots instead of offering an actual better solution superior to what Trump has. The last one - there might indeed be some but it's been drowned out by the TDS.

Nah, it is pretty simple: Your posts can be broken down into these categories:

    1) So what who cares
    2) If people don't like it, they can vote for someone else.
    3) Orange Man Bad deflection.
    4) Attack the Source (Breitbart et all) instead of the article.
    5) Wannabe Mod (Duplicate thread/Date of Article/etc)

    - and all of these with an emoji at the end.

See what I did there? When you actually post something meaningful that requires a complex response, I'll answer in kind as I did above. And when you follow the template, I'll respond in kind as well.

I've actually said this to you before AJ, I'd love to have you add me to your list of approved PM members so I can take this privately and see if you're for real or just role-playing a LW toon - something I've done with a dozen posters you wouldn't expect me to be on good terms with because their politics are diametrically opposed to mine.

    Okay, nap time.

Both the prez and the gov are not telling the truth. The truth is that Washington State has many, many Asian healthcare workers who were not vigorously trained in their own countries, don't do quality control, sabotage and steal your work. The nursing home in Kirkland where all the deaths occurred was staffed almost exclusively by undertrained Asians. These people all need to take the national exams again, and they should be given by US medical associations not testing orgs from their home countries.

Just come out and say, "Well, maybe little Donnie dumbpump should stick to what he knows best: sexually assaulting women and children, attacking war heroes, mocking disabled people, and being a corrupt, lying sack."

Pssst. Trump won't need to be elected. Word on the street is that Trump will use the virus to suspend the next election. Pass it on.

    Bahahahahah.

    Wow, AHP.

    That is Hilarious.

    But, Megan isn't interested.

Rapinoe said. “I’m busy, I’m sorry.”

But, the subject of Rapinoe does bring up an interesting collateral point.

If the Tokyo Olympics were to be postponed until 2021, it would pre-empt any potential anti-Trump politicization of the games by USA Athletes (during an Election Year).

Is it any wonder that Trump is advocating for postponement?

AJ .... She is a hell of a soccer player & she is a great spokesman for the LGBTQ community, but Secretary of State....:roflol:?

Anyone who seriously considered her for Secretary of State, can’t be taken seriously.

    Governor Inslee is an idiot.
Just look at how well he did running for President.

    Yeah, AHP.

I really don't think it was meant to be taken seriously.

I think it was tongue in cheek, sort of like Touting LeBron James for Mayor of LA.

But, yeah--I can think of many people more qualified Megan.

My first picks might be Lady GaGa or Katy Perry.

So calling a politician a snake is where you draw the line.

Wow. I am so impressed by your heightened sense of morality.

You must be a great person.

Wasn't it Donald Trump who called Corona an election campaign invention by the Democrats when it was time to start and order the necessary preparations to protect the US population?
    ...
And then, of course, it was the Europeans who were responsible for the Corona outbreak in the USA because of their alleged and factual mistakes. But we already know this fake news and lies from Trump in Europe ... only his stupid "red MAGA hat" fans continue to believe every lie this criminal makes in the White House. It's just easier to tell the US people that the others are to blame as guilty and not the own inability and ignorance!

Actually, it's the reality of the JFK Airport and other fast means of transportation inside of the United States. The virus's successful spread is because NY stood still for WEEKS and Pelosi/co also did their part to downplay the virus.

Democrats finally got the memo that attacking Trump on this isn't working when Cumou said they were all at fault.

You THINK. You could've nipped this at the bud in NYC.

But you know that COVID-19 still had entered the US from China side at this time and was still in your country.
And is it the duty of Pelosi to order and do necessary things to protect the US people when it is time to do so ... or is it the job of the US President?

Well since he blew about two and a half months it is going to be difficult, despite his efforts, to change the past.
