Guilty of what? What will his tax returns show that he is 'guilty' of? Nothing.

For some reason, people don't seem to understand exactly what shows up on a personal tax return when the person owns or is involved in a couple hundred different businesses.

I love how everyone who uses a 1040EZ is now some sort of tax "expert" lol.

While it's a bit more than I would leave with the IRS, yes, people DO leave large sums they have paid as quarterly estimated taxes, because by the time they file for one year, they are already into a new year, and the new year will require quarterly estimated taxes, based on the previous year plus some. It's called 'safe harbor'. The IRS wants people to pay more and more each year in quarterly estimated taxes.

Don't like it? Maybe it's time we disarm the IRS, change the taxation process and level the playing field.

Yes, I saw that yesterday; but the problem is that it requires the reader to THINK. Yet, among all too many of the Trump haters that is not going to happen . . . whch is why they depend on the Trump hating NYT . . . ABC, CBS, NBC/MSNBC, CNN, and The Washington Post . . . to do a great deal of the 'thinking' for them. Unfortunately those sources rarely include all of the facts since they are playing the political propaganda game instead . . . for the benefit of the DNC.

So once again a concerted effort by the Left's politically loyal media outlets AND their leadership to politically smear Trump has been debunked by . . . the . . . facts. So it goes. Next!

The NYT which is blatantly and militantly anti-Trump? That NYT . . . which deliberately told only part of the story while leaving out the fact that Trump DOES pay in taxes? Nice!

I'll take that as a compliment since the NY Times story has no actual source listed while you apparently buy into it.

The NY Times wouldn't be driving these kinds of bogus stories if Biden were leading.

Exactly. I am an accountant and I am not stupid enough to weigh in as some expert on something so complex. Hell Trump doesn't even understand it all and its his money.

But no doubt the bartender from the Bronx has got it all figured out.

The author provides no proof, the media source is far right, and Dick Morris is, sorry to say, a bit of a laughingstock in journalistic circles.

Personally I just don't care about Trumps taxes or wealth or hair or weight or blah blah blah. I care about his policies as president and judicial picks. He gets an A with me for all of the above. Everything else is a distraction and irrelevant.

The NYT has a far better reputation for factual reporting than the Western Journal.

Um ... no. The only people who get audited every year are those that the IRS knows to be perpetual tax cheats. The IRS does not have the resources to audit all rich people.

The NYT has been reporting on Trump for years, even before he got elected. Their reputation for reporting facts is stellar compared to the OP's source. This has nothing to do with Biden, who IS leading in every poll.

Everyone seems to be missing the real point of Trump's refusal to publish his financials. It isn't about cheating on his taxes, he doesn't care if we know that. He even said during a 2016 debate that not paying taxes makes him "smart."

What Trump fears is public exposure of the real facts about his lack of business acumen, his failures in business, and the truth that he isn't nearly as wealthy as he makes himself out to be. Any narcissist would find such exposure very embarrassing. Embarrassment is Trump's biggest fear.

Are you confusing the those pre-payments with paid taxes, because they're not paid taxes. Those payments were required by the IRS in exchange for a delay in filing his 2016 and 2017 tax returns. Once those tax returns were filed - showing 2 years at $750 owed in tax for each - the excess was his to claim back or leave in the IRS to apply against future taxes. His choice - the excess money belongs to him, not the IRS. And, if he left it with the IRS, that money is not a tax payment until it is actually used to pay taxes. Until such time, it's his money. NYT doesn't have 2018 returns so we don't know if that's happened, or if he did in fact reclaim it.

There is so much wrong with this statement it's hard to tell where to start. I'll leave a couple phrases for you to go research.

    Estimated payments
    Safe Harbor
    Roll back of credits
    Rolling forward business losses.

WOW easy information to find and you are wrong :)

The odds are if you are rich you will be audited and in Trumps case they were all up in his ass ;)

Dirty Donald said he was going to show his returns but like 99 and 44/100ths% of what he says that was pure unadulterated bullshit.

Clearly, you need to follow the conversation and know what I'm responding to - absolutely nothing to with how the tax due was calculated, or indeed the amounts. Rather, the difference between estimated tax and actual tax, and that this difference is not "tax paid". It's just money that may or may nor be left with the IRS for future payments, as the depositor chooses. So, your little rundown of basic fundamentals [yawn] is superfluous.
