Your biggest problem is that corporations don't pay enough taxes... through lobbyists and other dirty tactics they will fight you tooth and nail if you ever try to change this. Trump is powerless, besides it is in his best interest not to change anything.

What you say is true, never the less
I thought trump was working in the best interests of the nation, NOT HIMSELF
i thought trump was going to change things
I thought the whole point of being anti PC was having the freedom to say what is true and needs to be said
i thought that because trump knew how the system worked, he wad the only one who could change it
I thought trump was going to deal with the carried interest loophole
And, to tell you the truth, i thought some one else was gonna pay for the wall
Now, he wants to hold the nation hostage till we pay for it? Whats up with that?

To be honest Ardy, I'm not sure there is anyone who could change the system, it needs to change desperately...but if Trump couldn't do it, what hope does others have. Trump these days seem to be a shell of his former self... as if Pompeo and Bolton have taken him hostage...who knows what is going on behind the scenes...:(

This is dumber than Trump's statement about China paying tariffs.

10 years of corporate finance management. Corps will pay the least tax possible to remain competitive. The remaining tax they must pay will be part of their sales price.

Corporate taxes are not the answer. It's just a hidden tax on consumers.

    Thanks for your
I do agree that the system desperately needs to be changed
I also agree that there are few, if any people who could change the system
In large measure because it is not simply the president that decides these things
Although i think we must agree that donald trump repeatedly promised that he was the only person who COULD change things (maybe that is why many of us are disappointed in him)

That said, i disagree with those who thought trump could significantly change things
... or even that if he could change things i doubt that he would know what to do, and want to do it for that matter After-all, Trump’s greatest talent has always been shameless self promotion. The trump org is primarily a marketing company

I disagree, my quotes and links are above... corporations employ over 100 lobbyists to look after their best interests, it's costing America billions in taxes while increasingly more Americans have to more work 2 jobs just to make ends meet. Corporate America is not contributing their fair share.

Right, I get it. You want to tax people more. Then, tell the truth and tax the people more. Don't disguise your collectivist plans with class warfare against the evil corporations. Reducing taxes on corporations will actually reduce the worth of their lobbyists thereby reducing their need for them. You want corpsritism, raise the corporate tax rates again. Also, how many people work 2 jobs to make ends meet? What's the percentage on that?

You can't tax corporations. You simply tax consumption when you do so. When you reduce tax rates, there's no need to offer your keys to power loopholes. Giant corporations do not donate millions to campaigns to reduce taxes. They want to help write the tax code. When you reduce taxes overall, you increase competition by reducing gov provided privilege.

Also, our entire currency system and it's perceived value is created from debt. You can't eliminate debt without changing the entire federal reserve system.

Those are not loopholes. That's called global competitiveness. Additionally, all that goes away when you reduce corporate taxes in the United States. If you want more corporate control in dc simply increase corporate tax rates. There will be more and more lobbied loopholes. And again, you're simply fighting to tax consumption disingenuously.

Prices are determined by supply and demand. No business can just raise its prices willy nilly

Many times those lobbyists get bills passed where other companies who usually are their competitors get hit with the taxes while they skate through.

If the corporate tax is just passed on as a hidden tax to consumers, why did consumers not see a price reduction when the corporate tax rate was cut? I have asked this question before, but never have received a real answer to it.

It's because companies are not run for the benefit of their customers. By law they have to be run for the benefit of the shareholders. If there is any extra money floating around then it should be used to benefit the shareholders. The most direct way to do that is to return the money to the shareholders through increased dividends and/or stock buybacks.

Using that money to lower prices to the consumer may eventually yield benefits for the shareholders (through increased sales) but it's less certain and longer term.
