http://www.politico.com/story/2017/08/16/inge-thulin-3m-quits-trump-manufacturing-council-241705 So let's review. Charlottesville happens and Trump comes out with an equivocal statement of the violence. White suremacists applaud and everyone else criticize. A few departures from his advisory group and Trump is forced to issue a teleprompter statement, 72 hours later, where he unequivocally denounces white supremacy. No one is particulalrly happy because Trump clearly caved to public pressure. And then, Trump decides that because no one is praising him enough, he holds a press conference where he decides to double down on his initial ****up. But at least the White Supremacists cheered louder. He took an opportunity to heal and decides pour salt on the wound. And so, many more departures and now Trump - in an effort to stop the wave of negative statements from departing advisers - disbands the panel altogether. What a loser.
Just more than 24 hours after he said that he could easily replace any CEO that left. LOL, what a failure.
Did you ever consider reading less than half-way down THE FIRST PAGE of this board before starting yet another thread on this exact same subject?
There were CEO's that did not jump ship and I am looking for that list. I know that Dell was one and I am going to call and email them to tell them that they lost my business if they support Nazism.
The mere fact that the others did not resign does not mean that they support Nazism. It may just mean that they lack the balls to stand up to the Orange Dildo masquerading as a POTUS.
I EXPECTED this days ago. I wonder what took so long? Obviously, any business associated with Trump was slated to be boycotted.
No self-respecting executive wants to be associated with him. Who can blame them? He's a disgrace. What's going to be even more interesting is watching how the Republicans start to handle him. You know damn well they know that he's going to be the kiss of death come election time, with the exception of his rabid alt-right racist base. Will they begin to shun him? I wouldn't be at all surprised.
I am indeed. Cue one of his alt-right fan boys to pop in here and say "He beat HILLARY!". It's all they ever say. It's been 7 months since he took office, and the only winning anyone can see is the Electoral College win from 9 months ago. Sad!
Any attempt at "pushing forward an agenda" is DEAD (in Congress). When Congress returns from their break, it will be 24/7 responding to questions about the Trump Trainwreck. The thing to watch is this: How many of the GOP are willing to call Trump out BY NAME?
Thanks. I'll look at it more carefully later but at quick scan I see I was right that Rubio called him out. I hope more do. Trump's a disgrace, and as a lifelong Republican, I resent being associated with him in any way.
Could be harsher, but at least he isn't giving the President cover, like the alt-right Trump supporters who are all over this board and on radical blogs and Sean Hannity fan sites.
Trump's EGO is hurt whenever any person or group stands up to him. So he disbanded the councils so he did not have to hear of more resignations.
