From what I read from the WaPo that meeting took place during a dinner with over 40 other people sitting at the same table.

During the dinner Trump got up and walked around the table and sat next to Putin where they shot the bull for about a hour.

Chancellor Merkel was about two or three seats to the left of Putin and before Trump came over Putin and Merkel were having a discussion.

What ???Merkele allowed to talk to Putin but Trump can't.

FYI, Putin also can speak in German and English in case you're low information.

This is just another nothing burger to take out the American government.

Putin speaks English. The translator there for Putin in case Putin needed assistance with a particular word. Why would Trump have a translator translating English for him? This is really an extra stupid attack thread against the President of the United States.

Bremmer is not by any measure an expert in "national security protocols." Actually, his claim is idiotic.

Trump, knowing Putin speaks English, essentially forced Putin to speak to him in English - to speak to our President in our language, not his own Russian native language.

This, of course, is assuming the entire story is not just a lie as it likely is.

Trump meeting with Putin gives me some hope that trump will not bend over for the neocon force in DC who thinks they can win a nuclear exchange with Russia and we will finally have a president who exercises high responsibility and intelligence when it comes to relations with Russia who still has the ability to end our short history as a nation and gives to Russia the basic common sense respect that she deserves. An economic healthy Russia is in the interests of the world, and granting Russia its basic right for economic and national security is the only responsible course to take. And to get there requires that trump and putin can talk seriously, without the corruption neocon status quo war mongers being able to stop it. When the US is at a place where war with Russia is a consideration, trump had better be meeting with putin and having serious talks, instead of indulging in the insanity of a dangerously irresponsible neocon driven deep state and an economic globalism which ushers in some form of neo feudalism, in the exclusive interests of a small group of sociopathic families that worship satan and sacrifice children at their evil alters.
