Trump impressed me momentarily during one the Republican debates when he stood his ground alone and spoke mostly truth about the war in Iraq. However, now his true colors have come out. Actually he is just a coward who has degraded the office of President of the United States with his low class, shallow style. He didn't even have the courage to call out the white racism on display at the rally. Rather, he chose to be a spineless politician, afraid to call out the white racism because he does not want to upset his racist base. What a sad excuse for a president. The worst we ever had.

What can be said for such a sad example. You could let such a low class display slide if there was some courage there. Sadly there is none. Just another sorry a$$ politician. One that caters to racists at that. What a new low for the office of President of the United States. Sad.

Not even close. Read up on Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, and Andrew Johnson.

    1) The economy is doing well under Trump, 2) the troops, the border patrol and the cops like him for restoring morale, and illegal border crossings have dropped dramatically.
    3) he got a distinguished jurist on the supreme court.
    4) I think the tide is turning in Syria, though it's hard to know and impossible to know what Trump had to do with it.
    5) He's been quite graceful with some, if not all, foreign leaders.

I am sympathetic to anyone who is viscerally hated, unless it's a mass murderer. Trump's crimes are nothing but exhibitions of an occasionally discomfiting style. "He said THIS, and he said THAT!! Impeach him before he says something ELSE !!!" Some are even fantasizing about his death. What's wrong with people?

It's all WAY out of proportion to his actual performance. Hate does that to people. Of course they don't see it as hate.

I say we should support Trump. He won. At least back off of the hate language. Could you endure it?

Trump's style is a bit to crass and shallow for the office. His tweets tend to betray a lack of understanding of the subject matter. As an example on this issue, he once said something to the effect that he understood after talking to Xi for ten minutes the difficulty China has with North Korea. Anyone who has kept up with that subject matter would understand that fully. That is something the President of the United States should well understand, without having to be schooled by the President of China.

Sorry bro, too many such examples of Trump's shallow nature. He's simply not deep enough for the office. That said, I think he is doing the right thing by stopping US support for the Syrian opposition, some of whom are Islamic terrorists, if that is indeed what he is doing. However, something tells me that that may not actually be the case.

The office of the President was degraded long before Trump took the stage. The big problem the Establishment has with Trump is that he says out loud what they are thinking. ... and we can't have that.

So you are easily impressed and very gullible then, huh ?!

That's the most dangerous aspect of any democracy.

The ancient Greeks spoke about this at length and both Herodotus and Aristotle went into great detail.

The wuss-in-chief will never call out the white supremacists like his sidekicks Steve Bannon and Sebastian Gorka nor his Russkie puppet master Putin.

If the FBI (and perhaps the Senate Committee) take a look at this server and determine that the list of suspects is too broad to name anyone with certainty, this investigation goes away in a heart beat. The Democrat Party comes out looking like really sore losers,

Oh wait, they already are sore losers. So are the Trump Haters and Baiters on this website.

You know, your comments would sound really cool if we were smoking behind the gym in junior high, but this is a forum with adults contributing and you're coming off as a crass, know-nothing.complainer.

I guess you'd have approved if like Obama he reflexively blamed whites without knowing all the facts first.

I always thought it was a stereotype that Americans could not tell the difference between class and wealth, apparently not!

American live in a commercial culture, not an intellectual culture. Those with the money look cultured, and they are in the American context of...

Now we've gone from "the worst president in history" to "a bit too crass" and "not deep enough."

I actually agree with this, which is why I voted for Johnson (Clinton was never an option).

It's the hyperbolic language that makes your OP impossible to take seriously.

If crass is the standard, read about LBJ a bit, who got far more soldiers killed than Trump seems inclined to do.

The "sorry Bro" is also crass. Sir.

You need to read a book called The Conservative Mind, by Russel Kirk, as you clearly don't know what the right stands for.

Should I say that the property destroying anarchists at Berkeley and OWS represent your side?

I told you a thousand times not to exaggerate.

But seriously, people who put Trump in the category of historically bad political actors have just gone mad with hatred and bitterness.

And just for the record, Trump DID call out the alt right extremists. All he did was say that they aren't alone in their extremism these days and in VA, and he's right.

When your strongest arguments in favor of Trump are to point out that the things he has not stuck his nose into don't seem to be doing bad, it doesn't say much.
    "
    1) The economy is doing well under Trump,"
Trump hasn't done anything to affect the economy. It's still Obama's economy. Economic policies have not changed.

" 2) the troops, the border patrol and the cops like him for restoring morale,"

I suspect that the military is a bit nervous. The top brass certainly is.

" and illegal border crossings have dropped dramatically."

    Deportations have actually plummitted

"3) he got a distinguished jurist on the supreme court."

    That's a matter of opinion

"4) I think the tide is turning in Syria, though it's hard to know and impossible to know what Trump had to do with it."

Yes, Assad and his Russia benefactors are in the driver's seat.

"5) He's been quite graceful with some, if not all, foreign leaders."

And ineffective and weak with all of them. He does not behave like a world leader. He acts like a game show host. The photo of the expression on Angela Merkel's face in the photo opp after their first meeting says all you need to know about what the world thinks of Donald Trump.

LBJ was never crass in public. Trump is always crass everywhere. The man has no class at all.

He has no respect or interest in doing the actual work of being President, nor does he seem interested in learning what he needs to know or taking real responsibility.

In nearly all of his public statements he shirks responsibility.

He wants to play golf and go to rallies in the Rust Belt and coal country.
