    NY, NJ, and several other states have already essentially achieved herd immunity. And they did it months ago. Just look at the charts.

    There is no way to put the toothpaste back in the tube at this point. Since you want to make this a partisan issue, how do you explain how it spread from democratic cities and democratic states into rural areas if was the GOP and Trump with dirty hands? It isn't like a lot of people were flocking from Alabama to New York city to take in a Broadway show this year. It is because residents of democratic cities and democratic states spread the virus everywhere they went.

    Do you even know what herd immunity is?

    NO...60-70% of folks in NY and NJ have NOT been exposed to the virus. Infections are lower there (although recently rising in NY) because we take it serious...wear masks...don't patronize inside establishments much...

    Mitigation...not herd immunity

    The results are the same almost everywhere. Major outbreak. Sustained deaths and cases for 2-4 months and then it's essentially gone with negligible numbers.

    Covid-19, the virus, is real. But "covid" and everything that's been associated with it is the greatest hoax of our lifetime.

    Yea...because it scares the **** out of everyone and they do what needs to be done (masks...strict social distancing...etc.)

    NOT because they attained herd immunity

    What it "suggests"...is that facts matter.

    Trying for herd immunity without a functional and available vaccine...is a death sentence for millions...as well as the economy which could not survive that kind of loss of life.

    He's not denying herd immunity.

    But there is a question about sanity.

    The economy simply wouldn't recover while we wait for some number of millions to die. Yet lots of other countries are opening back up, going to school, and safely.

    We aren't doing that because Trump can't do the job.

    It's that simple.

    Herd immunity exists without human action. The presence of a virus in a herd will begin a process towards herd immunity. It happens, no matter what you or I do.

    You've got a ton of other countries that got it under control. They did it using methods we came up with.

    But we haven't done it.

    So, yes, it is that simple.

    Denial and a few bucks will get you a cup of bad coffee. But nothing more.

    Yes we could, more left for the survivors, right?

    This is what gets to me about people who vote Republican. How can you wish to be managed by someone who clearly does not give a flying fandango whether you live or die as long as they can go bowling and their 401K is high? I understand that people wish to keep and enjoy what they have earned but you have to be alive to have anything and if you say that it's alright to sacrifice some people just for your betterment how long before someone is saying the same to you?

    Exactly, and that's the thing. The Trumpers are telling us it's okay that several millions die just so Trump won't look bad for not having done those things

    Yes, karma is a factor. And when humans tinker with mother nature, engineering virus for gain of function on the tax payer dollars, karma really comes back 'round.
