Yes, most presidents are favored for reelection unless the economy is bad.

Trump's personality is not nice for people.

I'm thinking once Mueller releases his report that trump won't even be around when the 2020 elections come up.

I am not so sure, if Mueller comes up with something damning Trump looses. If he caves on his wall Trump loses. If the economy really tanks he loses. Those are all possible, but if those things do not happen then he has a excellent chance of winning again. Especially if the Democrats end up with a circus of potential wanabees damaging one another. Or worse Biden runs.

How does he lose if he “caves on his wall”

He is not a king and even monarchs must abide the will of the parliament

Because his base will leave him. With out those he could not stop a Republican running against him nor could he hold onto any of the swing states he picked up last time. He literally cannot bend on the wall. He does he should not even bother running.

The midterms were a mixed back, like most Presidents he lost seats and the majority. BUT unlike most Presidents he actually GAINED in a chamber. That is not much of a Democratic mandate.

Uh huh. When voters are reminded of Nancy and retards like AOC, the sane majority will send Trump back for a 2nd term.

Well that also depends on how well they motivate the younger voters. I have never seen them this interested and they could turn the tide for the Democrats. Though Pelosi is a negative

Do we really need to go into the predictions that had him favored for losing his first election?

He was not under investigation in 2016.

Things are different. The anger in America is palpable.

I didn't vote for Trump in 2016. I will vote for him, or the Republicans (in the event he gets Primaried) in 2020.

My vote will go Repub because of the drastic radicalism the left has maneuvered to since the Republicans beat the alt left golden child..Hillary.

100% true. It is all about individual states. Unfortunately for Trump, he is underwater in the states critical to his election in 2016, and then some.

Hmm, GWB lost two towers, New Orleans, Afghanistan and Iraq, had to deal with mediocre economy, draft dodger that he was, he ran against a war hero. Remember how that ended?

The guy has never had good approval ratings even before he ran. Actually that map is very hopeful anything in the (- + 8) range is winnable

His approval ratings were much better when he was elected (though still historically low for an incoming president). Here are his approval ratings in January of 2017:

Compare that to now and you shouldn't be feeling hopeful Trump will win in 2020. You should be worried.

What will make the difference is the “new voter” influence. Same effect as seen in November. People who have never voted before and a very large number of them were women, got out and voted. Unless the democrats run a really toxic candidate Trump is toast

The way I see it, the only way the Democrats can lose in 2020 if if they nominate another Hillary Clinton Type. A candidate that was just as much disliked as Trump by America as a whole and more disliked by independents. Independents gave Trump the White House in 2016, they'll boot him out in 2020.

You're correct about Trump's obnoxious and uncouth personality. His very unpresidential behavior. Outside of his avid supporters, that grates on most folks big time. Trump is a very easy man to dislike.

Don't forget, sane or insane, trump never had the majority of Americans. He did have the Electoral College.
