Neither has Trump. All US intelligence officials have said outright that NK is still running their nuclear program. Trump is the only one who says they arent. He sides with NK over his own intelligence agents, just like he did with Russia.

I truly hope Trump reaches a agreement with NK.
There’s allot more a stake than being able to gloat on a message board.

If they were not so dangerous, we could say we are amused by Democrats.

Believe me, for decades I was first one of them, then figured they and the former me is deluded, and over decades I came to realize the danger they are to the USA.

Men keep venomous snakes in their homes too. But does this make them pets? Venom is what we get from Democrats yet we treat them as were they pals. Hell, Paul Ryan kept trying to work with them. Did him no good.

Democrats wanted GW Bush not to side with his intelligence. And his intelligence was handed to Bush on a Silver platter by the name of George Tenet. Tenet told Bush there is no dispute that Saddam has WMD. But Tenet managed to escape with no wrath by Democrats. Same way Scooter Libby got prosecuted but the true leaker of the ID of that CIA worker and was blamed on Libby walked out with no prosecution.

So at the very worst, we are in the same place we would be anyways? Is that your point?

It really is amazing how many Democrats became war mongers since Trump decided to opt for more peaceful resolutions.

It's not being a war monger to point out how stupid Trump is for pulling out all military support for South Korea, and pretend that North Korea isn't a huge danger to the entire world. That is exactly what he wants to do, pull out all troops and shut down all bases in South Korea, and pretend that North Korea doesn't have nukes....

Kim played Trump's ego like a harp, and Trump, being a narcissist, is unable to tell the difference between actual praise, and someone using his ego against him. Kim does not have, and never had, any intentions to stop, or even slow down North Korea's nuclear program. Trump refuses to listen to his advisors when they tell him this. He has it in his head that he is the world's greatest negotiator, and that any promises made to him have to be true. He can't even understand the concept of someone lying to him.

But, it's worse than that. He also refuses to oppose North Korea economically. Instead of working to protect US interests, he would rather praise how great Kim Jong Un is and stand by as North Korea undermines US interests in Asia.

We have had troops there for 60 years. You want them there forever? I also seem to remember the new S. Korean president not wanting the US troops and missile defense there.

Did I miss where sanctions were relaxed? Did I miss where China stopped violating those sanctions? The US literally has nothing to lose by talking. We haven't given them a thing other than a couple days in the President's schedule. Whata wrong with seeing where it goes?

1; Libby WAS the one who leaked the agent's ID, on the orders of Bush. Bush should have been impeached over it.

2; The intel given to Bush claiming Sadam had WMD's was not given by George Tenet. It was given by the German government. They had a Iraqi citizen trying to get asylum named Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi. He claimed to be an insider from Sadam's regime, and to have evidence that Iraq had an active weapons program. This intelligence was given to the US during the Clinton administration, and Germany put him in contract with the US, but Germany discovered that he was lying and warned Clinton that the intel couldn't be trusted, and so it was filed away. It was these reports that Bush used to claim that there were WMD's in Iraq, and he was fully aware that the intel was suspect.

Not exactly, President Trump got back some of our MIA's in exchange for nothing while Obama gave North Korea free stuff and our MIA's remained MIA in North Korea..

Ever since the very bad decision to deploy troops into Korea, and the formal combat entry into the then so-called "police action" under the UN on June 25, 1950, the stupid ass US has been in utter la la shat land in Korea.

It was so bad in recent decades that to talk now can really do no harm.

Unfortunately we can't get a redo of 1950 to have smartly stayed the hell out of Korea.

She be in Beverly Hills with Barbara Streisand, Joni Mitchell, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and other Leftist wingnuts -- if you're in the mood for the Hollybrood.

Neither did Bush II, Clinton, Bush I, Reagan, Carter, Nixon, LBJ, JFK, or Eisenhower. N.K. has been threatening the U.S. and its allies for 65 years.

Excellent post, BTW. I have just a few comments.

Kim enjoys summits with the American President. It is something the Kim regime has been wanting for 65 years. Presidents before Trump refused to deal with the Kims until there was substantive progress toward denuclearization. Trump in an effort to change the subject from his numerous domestic problems has decided to give the enemy what it wants, becoming the lead diplomat where N.K. is concerned.

Halting testing and destroying facilities no longer needed is Kim's way of inviting Trump to talks. No real progress is made, but Trump's super ego is satisfied because it creates the impression that progress is being made.

Your first sentence is correct. However, considering the position of the Kim regime and the encouragement Kim receives from China -- N.K.'s main benefactor -- and Russia, that seems almost impossible to achieve but we must try. Far more likely is that South Korea will become N.K.'s ally, becoming even stronger with S.K.'s successful economy.

Your second sentence contains a huge "IF." Trump failed miserably in the first summit. He got nothing, but he gave away plenty. Considering N.K.'s continued success in missile and nuclear development -- according to our intelligence -- and she feels her weapons are necessary for regime survival, the prospects do not look good for Trump's success in a second try.

All Trump wants to do is change the subject. That has been his pattern for over two years.

What exactly did Trump give away in the first summit?

All evidence is to the contrary and you have provided nothing to prove your point.

Sandy is under the impression that peace is achieved by not talking to your enemy.

Most people don't realize that we have technically been at war with NK since the Korean war. The armistice was simply an agreement to stop hostilities provided they stay on their side of the DMZ and not pursue further military capabilities. When they went nuclear, we could have obliterated the country in days.

Keeping so many troops on the DMZ for so long is insane. Time to start thinking outside the box. Prior to Trump, America's only diplomatic envoy to NK was Dennis Rodman. Fortunately, I don't think he wore his dress on that day.

Moon Jae-In is the President of South Korea, and he ran on a platform that included a closer relationship with N.K. As a consequence, S.K. is moving closer and closer to N.K. This is not good.

One of Kim's goals is the unification of the Korean Peninsula under the leadership of the Kim regime. That is becoming a real possibility, and Trump seems oblivious of that potential threat.

Think of it like the brits giving Hong Kong back to China. China hasn't turned HK into a communist hell hole.
