Trump is making a fool of himself

He got what he wanted didn't he? The fool is MSNBC who refuses to broadcast it just because they don't like Trump. Kids and many adults are going to have a ball watching it. It's something they may never see again unless they join the military. Thank you Mr. President

The plan was to celebrate the Fourth of July with a televised extravaganza on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. One unstated goal was to show support for the President at a time of bitter division in the nation.

Capping the day would be a star-studded, “Salute to America” show at the Lincoln Memorial. The goal: to draw a record 500,000 people to Washington’s Mall to celebrate America’s birthday.

Planning went on despite the threat of protests. “Tens of thousands of Americans prepared this July 4 to observe Honor America Day, conceived by its sponsors as a huge outpouring of patriotic unity in a divided nation,” wrote young Washington Post reporter Carl Bernstein.

Protesters shouted obscenities and raised the Viet Cong flag. As the U.S. Army Band played “The Star-Spangled Banner,” some protesters marched in the nearby reflecting pool to a set of bongo drums. Later, some went skinny-dipping in the pool. Countering the antiwar protesters were members of the National Socialist White People’s Party, some wearing Nazi insignia.

The main event was the televised evening show at the Lincoln Memorial. Police set up barricades between protesters and the audience seated to watch the show. Just as the show was about to get underway, protesters overturned a Good Humor ice cream truck, and anti-riot police moved in. The police or someone in the crowd threw a tear-gas canister, and the tear gas “wafted” over the back rows of the audience. Some protesters threw bottles.

The year was 1970 and the President was a Republican. His name was Richard M. Nixon. Nixon did not appear at the 1970 celebration; he was at his summer White House in San Clemente, Calif.

This is one of the precedents the Trump camp has been using. Obviously, they did not tell the complete story.

 

Operation Sail 2000 served as a tremendous celebration of the coming of the new millennium. It unfurled as a greater nautical spectacle than ever before, with the largest peacetime assembling of naval and training ships to date-120 tall ships, more than 40 warships from around the world, and 70,000 smaller pleasure craft.

On the fourth of July in New York Harbor, President Clinton reenacted for only the sixth time in history the ritual that President Grover Cleveland had first carried out from aboard the USS Dolphin in New York's inaugural International Naval Review in 1893.

I'm sorry, but after two bipartisan investigation of the war. It was agreed that Bush had bad intelligence and that Congress was given the same intelligence Bush was given.

 

You know what was wrong with today? Trump usurped July Fourth.

His show in DC was not about our country's independence. It was not about Americans experiencing a joyous holiday with hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, and fireworks. This was about Donald Trump.

Trump Productions provided the tanks, the military flyovers, Blue Angels, hundreds of troops, and military brass (with the exception of the military chiefs), even Air Force One. Trump even arranged for the fireworks.

Of course, the star was Donald Trump and his marvelous, awe inspiring speech about our military prowess.

"The future of the American future depends on the shoulders of men and women willing to defend it," the draft dodger said, although he was not one of them.

Trump was front and center during a stirring rendition of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic." It was breathtaking.

His adoring admirers cheered mightily at Trump's performance. Therein lies the problem. His "adoring admirers" are a minority, roughly 40% of the voting public. The other 60% will take exception to Trump's theft of July Fourth.

But Trump doesn't care. It was a great show and he was the star.

 

Seems to me during the election when he won, he didn't have anything close to 40%, with a zero chance of winning. Will you be fooled again? The bias news can't keep his achievements quiet forever.

 

He pulled it off.

No proof Trump dodged the draft. We know Clinton not only dodged the draft, but went to England and protested it.
