Pretty much expected given the panel. Rao’s logical and legal authority is obviously correct and will win the day

All Democrats? Just the Democrats is the precedent you think is being set? I am a Democrat. Do you think this lawsuit against Trump means I need to release my tax returns?

It would have political ones if Republicans cared about holding Trump accountable to his own words and promises.

Your taunt is both irrelevant to the topic of this thread and wrong.

But at least you have dropped the lame ass talking point of pretending that Democrats have not already issued valid subpoenas in the impeachment inquiry.

Congress is on recess and there are no House rules, nor are there any Constititutional demands that Democrats hold a vote on an Impeachment Inquiry.

There are simply very few political reasons to rush that vote when Trump has made the obstruction charge so easy to prove, he has lost so many Court cases specifically related to his obstruction efforts, and damning information related to the impeachment continues to come out each day regardless.

It is not scary to think Congress has the power to investigate the President.

The only vote required - and the only one that matters - is the up or down vote in the House on the Articles of Impeachment. The rest, while entertaining, is merely foreplay.

At this point who really cares, and what difference will it actually make in the long run? He’s a billionaire and most billionaires don’t pay much in taxes anyway. Don’t we have much bigger problems to deal with besides our President hasn’t released his tax returns?? Obama never released his birth certificate (to my knowledge) and that’s made no difference. If only our 2 ridiculous (and growing) leader parties would stop wasting time and energy throwing s**t at each other they might actually accomplish something.

Which ignores why the State Prosecutor wants the Returns. It is not about trapping Trump in dodgy tax stuff, it is about looking at possible laundered transactions involving Cohen and people who were paid hush money.

Ok then why not open investigations on all politicians? We all know there is corruption, laundering, bribing, etc, etc, etc, at ALL the top levels. My point is that our “leaders” do not care about the people anymore, the only goal seems to be self preservation, and we the people are so caught up in it that it’s your party is horrible vs my party is great. Who wins here? Not the people because as long as we’re divided we have no voice.

I agree, and I have no care if all politicians are investigated if there is smoke, and with Trump, there is no lack of smoke, is there.

As an initial matter, Obama released his birth certificate, both the short form and the long form. That conspiracy needs to die in a fire. Please help ensure that it does.

Second the primary issue behind trying to obtain Trump's tax returns (or perhaps like 1B reason to discovering if he committed any tax crimes) is to determine and hold him accountable for any potential conflicts of interest. As President, he has the ability to direct expenses to various groups and agencies. Most people are concerned that he will choose the groups and agencies that benefit him and his children financially.

This thread is about trump's tax returns and the legal blocks to its release being destroyed by the court. If trump had followed through on his repeated promise to just release it voluntarily, then there would be no legal case.

You should get upset by the GOP lack of a willingness to hold Trump accountable and thereby forcing US taxpayers to waste millions in legal fees.
