Trump says he will place a hold on WHO funds amid the coronavirus pandemic.

They parroted objectively false information months after the first case of it, which was FALSE and pretty horrible of them to do. They cannot be trusted.

Donald minimized the virus from the start. He did so wherever he could. We all know he did. The White House concluded in January that the virus is very deadly, and millions of lives could be killed and that it would cost trillions.


So obviously the WH was getting the right info from China and the WHO.
Donald himself previously said the they had a great deal of cooperation from China as well.
We can all look that back up on youtube.

We all should be cutting funding to the WH until they get somebody who admits to this.

That wasn't a statement about how the virus could be transmitted, it was a statement about whether there had been proven human-to-human transmission at that point. The Chinese authorities said there wasn't any clear evidence at that point. They may have been lying, twisting the evidence in the direction they wanted or it could have been true that there was no clear evidence at that point.

The WHO quoted that statement directly from the Chinese authorities (just as they will with any other country) but I don't see the basis to assert that they undoubtedly knew is was false (assuming it was in some way). I also see no motive for the WHO actively reporting that claim if they knew it was false. In such things, incompetence is much more common that conspiracy.

 

He said that. And then two minutes later when asked why, he said he didn't say that. He said they are going to think about it.

 

Problem is they had people on the ground in Wuhan so it needs to be investigated. Was China lying? Was WHO only going off what they said vs what the saw? Were they allowed access or not, if not why repeat the claims. We all knew of the DRs statements at that point did they look into what happened to those DRs? Where's our money going, line by line? I could go on and on. WHO was specifically created for this and they have access and protocols to in every UN country to avoid this very thing therefore it needs to be investigated.

 

I'd have no objection to an honest independent investigation of both the actual facts on the ground at the time and the WHO processes for gathering and reporting information.

That isn't what Trump said though. He wants to play judge, jury and executioner, unilaterally declaring them guilty and implementing a punishment. He clearly doesn't like any kind of international organisations though, so he's hardly a neutral party.

As late as 1/26 Dr. Fauci said the virus posed very minimal risk to the US.

The WHO purposefully spread what was obviously false information. It had been present for like 2 months, how they could ever believe that was true is insane. They KNEW it had person to person transmission and they lied about it.

I certainly think we should at some point put a hold, and do an investigation as to how they got it so wrong, and why they seem to have a bias towards China at the start of all this.

No, I'm defending due process rather than the idea that anyone can use a couple of news reports to unilaterally declare people guilty of a massive criminal conspiracy. I wouldn't have expected Trump to be in favour of that either.
