    Sure, you can't change to say the earth if flat, but the Constitution is still the supreme law of the land. You cannot write laws which violate the Constitution. Such laws will be challenged, and voided.

    There is a process to amend the Constitution, and I think this change would have a fairly good chance of passing.

    His true colors were obvious to anyone with eyes long before he was elected. He is a dik, but less of a thief than the alternative.

    Liberals either ignore or can't comprehend Article V of the Constitution.

    They believe the U.S.Constitution is a living and breathing document that you can ignore the intent of the Constitution and change the meaning and definition of the Constitution any freaking time you want to further a political agenda.

    Sure. It can be changed or clarified. There is a process for it. Not sure why people do not like to do it the proper way.

    What does it say about the Celebrity Presidunce that he states during an interview that "they say" he can abolish a constitutional amendment with an executive order? What does it say about him that he's suddenly raising this stupid issue a week before the election and right after he publicly lamented on Twitter that the pro-Trump mail bomb terrorist was interfering with Republican momentum?

    The authors of the 14th Amendment quoted Vattels on the floor of Congress when they debated the 14th Amendment and the 14th Amendment is based upon "Natural Law" aka "Laws of Nature."

    You're a bit scattered on this topic. Should the government have this kind of power? Hell no! The positive side to this story is that those who cheered for Obamacare and gun control are taking a sudden interest in the constitution.

    I do realize that you may not be the one to have a polite discussion about this, so if your response is just going to be more venting or cheap shots, please don't bother.

    Maybe many parts of the Constitution were applicable in the last part of the 1700's but times have changed. Technology and life/culture/resources today are very much different.

    Also, I would assume any change would only affect future births and not past ones because what would the cut off date be? Last week, month year decade etc..? The trouble with today, and it's just not in America, kids born to foreign parents tend to have their allegiance firmly with their parents birth country. We all know the problems this brings because of the middle East.

    Trumps not going to be able to use an EO, and he already knows law suits will be filed against his EO as soon he declares it.

    This works 3 fold. One a message sent to Repubs and Demos. Do something about Illegal Immigration. Two, highlights the immigration issue getting more on the Right involved and more independents going into Election Night 6 days from now. Three, plays the Lame Stream media to keep it highlighted while putting more pressure on Democrats to address the issue.

    Which their candidates are avoiding talking about the issue and closing out with healthcare.

    I dont think - in fact I’m 99.9999% sure - that ending the birthright loophole for illegal aliens will be retroactive

    Liberals are just trying to raise the temperture of the debate with that fear tactic

    In general, I'm surprised the Constitution hasn't been brought up to date, surely there must be many areas where it needs to be. It's been some 200 years, a lot has changed.

    Funny how the left is so literal in its interpretation of "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States" but finds leeway in " shall not be infringed".

    No. Paul Ryan is 100% on point. My President has lost his mind. I support my President. I voted for him and he has done well. ...but this requires a constitutional amendment. Period. I will not support it even then.

    trump is desperately trying to seek something to campaign with for the next week. He tried to lie about a middle class tax cut...but that lie didn't get far because its pretty obvious, even to trump supporters, that Congress isn't in session.

    So he's resorted to his favorite standby...attacking minorities. Fear mongering with the caravan, sending the army to the border to repel his fake "invasion" and talking about executive orders to change the constitution to attack immigrants. None of these things seem to be going very well for him...to the point where now he's flaming at Paul Ryan. Its never a good sign when new republicans start eating each other a week before the midterms.

    But this was never about him actually doing anything. This amendment is clearly written and has a historic clear precedence. It would require 2/3rds of Senate & Congress and I believe 2/3rds of the States to modify. The constitution is stronger than one moronic incompetent infesting the White House.

    You'll have to take that up with the ones you refer to.

    I have heard people argue the other parts of the 2nd amendment relating to the militia, but being pro-2nd myself, I don't bother too much with it.

    Personally I am glad the Dems, and GOP together are calling him out on trying to tear up the Constitution. There is only one person, Graham, who is supporting Trump on this nonsense.
