One of the most ignorant anti-Trump Stories yet

A former Naval aviator, Marine pilot explains why the helicopter trip to the American cemetery in France was aborted.

It was the Battle of Belleau Wood when U.S.Marines superior marksmanship was killing German soldiers from 1,000 yards away with their 03- Springfields. The phrase "Devil Dogs" referring to U.S. Marines was coined by German soldiers during the battle of Belleau Wood.

What started the Army vs. Marine Corps interservice rivalry that went on for almost 80 years was that the American press gave the Marines all of the credit and coverage during WW l ignoring the U.S Army winning battles.

It was Belleau Wood why Gen. Eisenhower wouldn't allow U.S. Marines ship detachments go to shore during the Normandy D-Day landings when Army Rangers ran into trouble.

U.S. Marines didn't fight from trenches like the British and French but attacked the Germans starting to engage the enemy with rifle fire from 1,000 yards.

You didn't bother to read your link, did you? All your link states is to trust the marines. But that is the point - there are no statements from any marine on saying that the marines cancelled the flight. The only people saying that the marines cancelled the flight are Sanders and Trump. And your link rubbishes those reasons given by Trump and Sanders

And a statement from the Atlantic is not dismissed by your link "As you’re looking for explanations, you can dismiss this one. Helicopters can fly just fine in the rain, and in conditions way worse than prevailed in Paris on November 10."

This all confirms what many of us have been stating. Trump just did not want to go and used the marines as an excuse
