Oh, the commander in chief saw a senator in a compromising position .

    Really?

Anyone believe this? I mean, it would.not be the first time the president comp!ete!y made something up.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/01/tru...brett-kavanaugh-supreme-court-nomination.html

President Donald Trump claimed on Monday he had "somewhat compromising" information on an unidentified Democratic senator as he eviscerated the party for its handling of Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination.

Trump exploded on Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats, alleging moral hypocrisy and unfair treatment of the appeals judge after a sexual assault accusation. Without naming the senator or providing any evidence, Trump suggested he had damaging information about a Democrat, whom he called "pretty aggressive."

    Why not?

He has no honor, ethics, or moral compass.

    Trump being Trump.

    Kompromat, Baby!

BUT THE “BOOF” INVESTIGATION WON’T BE FINISHED, AND THERE ARE SOME DNA TESTS STILL TO BE PERFORMED ON BEER BOTTLES FOUND IN THE YALE LAW SCHOOL BASEMENT:

McConnell: Senate will hold Kavanaugh vote ‘this week.’

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the Senate will hold a vote on Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination this week.

“The time for endless delay and obstruction has come to a close. Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination is out of committee. We’re considering it here on the floor and … we’ll be voting this week,” McConnell said.

McConnell’s comments, made during a Senate floor speech, comes as the FBI has to wrap up its investigation into multiple sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh by Friday.

GOP senators and aides have been careful not to pin down a specific timeline on Kavanaugh’s nomination, arguing that the FBI could wrap up its work before the Friday deadline.

If McConnell waited until Friday to file cloture on Kavanaugh’s nomination that would set up an initial vote on ending debate as early as Sunday.

If McConnell filed cloture before that, he could bring up the vote as soon as the Friday deadline passed or when the FBI wrapped up its investigation.

Cocaine Mitch seems to be running out of patience.

There is as much proof for Trumps claim as there is for Fords.

You believe one you have to believe both.

Not necessarily, the credibility of the accuser has to be taken into account. Donald Trump has a long history of claiming to have seen things that demonstrably didn't actually happen and has repeatedly shown himself willing to say pretty much anything he thinks the audience wants to hear.

    All presidents do that.

Teddy Roosevelt used to take the train to campaign and would give a different speech to every stop depending on what they wanted to hear whether they were farmers or city folk.

Sometimes it was the complete opposite of what he just said.

Its sad you think Trump is the only guy to ever do this.

I'm amazed at the standard you hold him to when you don't care about others.

In my opinion there is a huge difference between tailoring the message to the audience and completely making up "facts" to appeal to the audience.

Donald Trump has been exceptional both in the extent of his lies, and how easily the truth can be found, from trivial stuff like claiming "covfefe" was a super-secret code word or that his inauguration crowd was big, through run of the mill stuff like claiming he had met Putin and not met Putin (both could not be true) to important stuff like claiming a former President founded ISIS.

I realise that ardent Trump supporters don't trust the mainstream media but most (comparatively) impartial commentators agree that President Trump lies a great deal.

In general, your point is correct, but specifically, no you don't, Trump is a chronic documented liar while Ford is not.

In all fairness, we don't have a 30 year history of seeing Ford in the public eye.

What we have seen in the span of a couple of weeks indicates she can keep up with Trump in the lie department very well.

He may exaggerate the truth but they are harmless lies.

I think the left needs to quit making everything about the end of the world.

"Oh My God, Trump lied about his crowd size, WWIII is imminent WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would be a good stage 1 recovery step for the Democrats. Step 2 would be to make it about policy, not about Trump. Accomplish those two steps and they might win and be deserving of seats!

As my post clearly stated, things like crowd size were trivial lies but it all goes towards poisoning the well.

Other lies he has told are less trivial.

Nice strawman you've constructed there, better make sure it doesn't fall victim to an AGW exacerbated forest fire.

This whole tragedy is on that entire senate. The Republicans needed to have the balls to go "Nope, contact the authorities like you're supposed to." And the Dems were supposed to have some kind of human decency.

Epic fail and a great way to demonstrate what I've said for two years now: 115th Congress is the worst in American History.

I mean, I'd like to hope 116th doesn't become worse but it's wholly possible that it does.

    Considering the example and trend?

Did anyone expect the depths of depravity the New Democratic Party has sunk to in these confirmation hearings?

After these mid-terms, we enter the turn and head towards the next General Election where the White House is the gold ring.

Imagine how pathetic it's going to get. The NDP's media partners will be in full tilt boogie, and we'll be hearing about porn midgets frequenting 1600 Pennsylvania.

The GOP has lacked the decency in this matter, and it is their epic failure.

Even being a constitutional Republic has barely saved the country from the GOP capacity and political terrorism.
