SECRET RECORDINGS.............this was a contract deal and artistic contract every signed one? They stipulate the right of each party to use the material.
It's the background to the thread topic for starters. If you read the lawsuit Trump has filed, nowhere does he state how Bob Woodward violated professional standards. He puts it out there, but no details after that. He is basically claiming that the name "Trump" is copyrighted and that what he said in the interview was "copyrighted" even though Bob Woodward never acknowledged that. He then tryies to explain that the tapes were somehow altered if they don't support that argument. BTW, I have already stated that this lawsuit is not going anywhere and I seriously doubt the judge will rule in Trump's favor on this one for it to go forward.
Yeah, that is trump's reality. He literally exaggerates everything about himself and diminishes to the nth degree everyone else. I think Woodward's intention to public parts of the audio is to show what he wrote in the book is true. Trump does not want that because his own words will refute whatever he says/
For starters, there is no contract, verbal or otherwise Blues. For a valid oral contract, there is offer, acceptance of the offer, and a mutual understanding of what that offer entials. Trump only made the offer, and thus the contract is not valid. Nowhere in the lawsuit does it claim that Bob Woodward accepted the offer and agreed to Trump's request as he understood it.
Paraphrasing: Woodward also stated that the written word can't compare to the spoken word and Americans needed to hear him speak, besides him being being dangerous.
It was only filed a short time ago. We heard about it five days ago. What will happen is the following: a preliminary hearing will commence in the next month or so. Both sides will prepare briefs. Woodward attorney's will provide prima facie evidence no copyright exists, certify that the tapes are original, provide certified independent written excerpts, word for word of those tapes that no contract exists, etc. Trump's attorneys will try to use word semantics to make their case. The judge will rule in favor of the respondent, and then Trump will have to decide to let it go or appeal the decision. Best case scenario. Worst case scenario, if the judge rules it goes forward. The next step is disposition. Trump loves to have disposition taken from the people he sues, but does not see it beneficial himself. He will use delay tactics for said disposition. If Trump pushes too hard for the delay, either he will be held in contempt or the case too will be dismissed.
Woodward certainly isn't intimidated by Trump or is lawsuit. I like Steve Paikin as an interviewer and Woodward always delivers. 11,696 views Feb 1, 2023 "The disruptive impacts of Donald Trump's presidency continue to wreak havoc in America and influence politics abroad. Two years after losing the presidency, is his influence behind him or is his MAGA movement still a force to be reckoned with? Steve Paikin discusses this with veteran investigative journalist Bob Woodward."
I trust Bob Woodward and his attorney's to construct a contract that includes what he wants, over Trump's attorneys to construct a contract that excludes what Donald does not want. I think Woodward is smarter than Trump and I suspect his attorneys are smarter than Donald's.
@05:30 of this video we learn that Bob Woodard can’t figure out individualized ringtones. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but there it is.
