You just can't make this stuff up!!!!! This is just plain amazing...…...and stupid! President Donald Trump on Monday suggested the United States should create a "worldwide network" to combat the "unfair" way the country is treated by the media, saying CNN doesn't have enough competition overseas. "Throughout the world, CNN has a powerful voice portraying the United States in an unfair...." the president tweeted. "....and false way. Something has to be done, including the possibility of the United States starting our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!" We have had this thing called the Voice of America since the 1960's! I used to listen to it all the time. I was always very proud of it, especially when compared to stations like Radio Moscow or Radio Havanna Cuba. VoA presented the news, unvarnished and with all sides of the political spectrum. And we aired our dirty laundry. Now, I learn that the GOP Congress and the Tump Administration are putting themselves in a position to politicize the VoA by dissolving its independent board of directors and creating a CEO, which is a Presidential appointee. We still have radio outlets for political news? This isn't the Roosevelt Administration. I'd sooner shut it down/turn it into an emergency broadcast station(which I presume we already have.) Waste of taxpayer money.
If he is serious.... Does the new station promote the Presidents agenda, no matter who is in the White House in the future?
